  1. thabks brian ill take a look, originally the boat was to be moored at Barmouth for the Bass fishing but ive had a change of heart as it is to be its first season , my fishing is varied so missing Bass but having pike perch and eels to go far is far from hardship, the 10 mph doesnt bother me much, i had heard, the question regarding moorings was based around leaving the boat on there for the year, not at a marina , i know they charge the earth, but at some bay or cove accessible by dinghy at the weekends, this is where im not sure about the rules, can you in effect just leave a boat where you want , within reason, by just dropping a decent anchor and paying that license?
  2. hi everyone im new here, found the site while doing a search fopr info on windermere, found matt hayes and then here, so heres the first question, do any of you fish Windermere on your own boat, i have a 17 foot grp cabin cruiser that is ideal for a weekend out on the lake , i wondered if you have info on legal requirements for the boat to get on the water, minimum ins req. mooring advice, ie can you just drop anchor to suit your self? i know you need a license from the lake rangers for the boat that is in hand already. Launch sites would be useful too and costs involved, finally i read on one site a front mounted fishfinder was needed, mine is rear mounted, is this because of the depths/ shallows. i cant think why otherwise. Any other tips would be appreciated, ah good im glad i got that off my chest, now ill leave it to you lot to sort out all the problems i have in the world.
