  1. I dont really beleive in it, but ive not had a professional reading. After all , the stuff in mags and newspapers has got to mean something to Ten percent of their readership, right ? However, having read the profiles for the starsigns a couple of times, I beleive the description of Capricorn fits me better than Saggitarius, which I should be ! As my birthday falls close to the beggining of Sag, it could be that !
  2. Dont fret it Judy, I know Yoxer is clever, and I know he enjoys what hes doing, but I just didnt understand why people where persisting with winding themselves up over his ways. Me, Id just butt out and leave him to his fun ! Beleive me, I enjoy a good wind up as much as the next guy, but it seemed to be getting personal for some! Anyways, as i said before, before my time and all that ! Im off to play elsewhere. Later
  3. Perhaps its Farnham Amateur Operatics then !
  4. Dont remember God putting chains on the ten commandments, Chesters !
  5. Sorry I interfered, Man. Theres obviously things going on here from waaay before my time, and conmprehension at this time ! Best of luck fellas
  6. Have you installed anything recently, about the time this started happening ? Do you play any games on your PC , Because some games have been known to alter your screen resolution, and or the refresh rate of the monitor. This could give you a sort of flickering ? It sounds to me like something is running in the background and taking up memory, causing a redraw slowdown on screen.
  7. Its remotely possible that your Antivirus/Firewall program could be blocking certain Javascript calls. Also, in Internet options - Security your security settings could be too high for this particular script .
  8. Im not a mod or owt, and I can see from elsewhere in this board that Yoxer isnt everyones favourite person, but .... as a user of a number of Internet boards, I feel I have to say just one thing here .... This is Yoxers thread, he being the originator of it, and I dont understand why you others are Hi-Jacking it. If you are not happy with the subject matter, or posts within this thread, then why dont you just move on to something else. The more you come in here and wind youselves up over him , is just fuel for him. Its like , if you ignore it, it will go away. If he interferes in a thread of someone elses, then do what you like. That is the protocol I observe elsewhere on other boards.
  9. Now the way I see it is ....... We are all looking at it as if this planet was put here solely for us . This is simply a load of bull brought about by us (mankind) beleiving that we are the most important thing in the known universe. This planet, and indeed the cosmos , couldnt give a flying f**k about us. In fact, we are nothing but a plague evolving into something akin to a global disaster. When the time comes, the planet will do what it does best, and shake us off, much like a dog with fleas, much like the dinosaurs, and carry on in its own sweet way. In short, the planet will survive, but perhaps we will not. Makes you feel insignificant, Yes ?
  10. Tyke, I am a Landscape Gardener by trade, and can give you any advice on this to help you. When you say its part concrete, do you mean the concrete is already there ? Did you know that you can get a sunken manhole cover to replace your existing one, and put a flag inside it to continue your pattern ? I strongly advise you using a membrane, called Terram , under the flags , to supress weed growth etc. Im on here most days, so if you want to know anything , ask away ! Good luck !
  11. Windows stores a reference file for every update downloaded. When you scan for available updates, it first checks this folder for its reference files, and then tells you what is available. The folder it uses for this has various locations, depending on which version of windows you are using. Hope this helps your paranoia !
  12. Id say it depends what your version of windows is. Had some glitches with IE6 using windows ME, nothing serious, probably down to the way i surf ! I tend to open lots of IE windows at once, that sort of thing. Its as solid as a rock for me now Im running XP though ! They probably tell you to use it cos its the most secure version of IE, for encryption, that is. Good Luck !
  13. Judging by that list, these people must be freaky ! What the hell (sorry!) is left for entertainment ?
  14. Thanks for the link to the drum machine thing. Thats an incredible piece of work. I have played a little with Flash, and its not as easy as these people make it look !
  15. Its possible that you may have to tell your firewall to open a specific port address to allow access to FTP. Presuming that you are using Norton Internet Security, if you open the control panel, go to options, click the Firewall tab, you should see a dialogue box to add a port address. Now all you need to know is which address you need to add. Sorry, but I cant help you with that one!
  16. Ive been building and upgrading for several years, now, and the worst thing I have to say about shop bought packages is that 1, they often use cheap motherboards, with little room for future upgrades, 2, they often use clearance line cards in the machines that they build. Although it really isnt much cheaper now to custom build, It is still the path I would recomend. Particularly if you have a specific use in mind.
  17. If you have a copy of paint shop pro lying around, you will find screen capture is built into it.
  18. You should bear in mind one thing here, The file access speed of your machine will be governed by the slowest drive on the system. So, if you were to go out and buy a nice shiny new high speed hard drive, and make it slave to a slower drive, they will both be slow. If you are going to purchase a big new drive, you would be better off taking out the smaller ones, and replacing them with the one new one. You could use a program like Norton Ghost to copy all your information over, and so not lose anything.
