  1. She lives near Gandia, somewhere between Valencia and Alicante. The great thing she has found is this local who knows the water will actually go for a days fishing showing you all the good swims etc and you pay for his bate and food etc. (not a great deal) The chap takes you where the fishing is good at that time of year, he also has all the details on how to get licenses etc. sadly my Sister in law has all his details and is contacting him for me, but I will be sure to give his details if he is good, and willing
  2. hi we have stayed at west pitt farm in tiverton. http://www.fisheries.co.uk/westpitt/ we took 2 little dogs, has a pool and the farm pond is about 20 ft from your door, but very easy to catch. The other ponds are down the hill, a bit harder The only problem we had was they were infested with signal crays and had a lot of traps trying to get rid of them.
  3. I have recently had a bit of luck and my sister-in-law has moved to spain. The wife wants to visit her often, and near by are some carp lakes. My current rod holdall would never protect my gear in an aircraft hold. Does anyone have any advice on a good rod holdall which can enable survival of 2 13 foot rods. 2 reels a buzzer bar and assortment of tackle. Thanks for any good advice..
  4. mmmmm its both then thanks mate
  5. I agree, Kids are not all bad. Recently a teenager gave me some pretty good tackle advice and where the best swims were on a stretch of water I did not know. I am 30+. There are ill mannered kids about, but I have seen more ill mannered adults. Another point to note, a lot of kids playing by water making a mess and causing trouble are not anglers.
  6. I put the mixers in a bowel, soaked them ... the blooming wife gave them to the dog ... Shall I get rid of the wife or Dog?
  7. That was tongue in cheek mate, as I am 6ft and a bit heavier I agree though, the people who are unlikely to buy a license are most likely to threaten violence. But taking that point further, most Baliffs I have met during day time fishing in the week, are not big healthy young men. so why if they can ask to see a license cant we.
  8. Who needs more ballifs. If the Commercial fisheries checked licenses when they took your money maybe a few more people would buy them. Also as a license holder and if your 6ft 18 stone and look mean you can always ask to see other peoples licenses. I think it should be easier to buy short term licenses from the fisheries or at bait shops.
  9. Hi I am have just joined this Forum, but one thing that your posting always makes me think about. I have learnt all my angling skills from my father, and friends. As I am sure a lot of people do. As I get older I get more oppotunity to read about angling etc and thats where I hear about bad technique. Now I really do hope my technique is good, but unless people are willing to give constructive critisim, in an acceptable way. then how will I and others know what we are doing is wrong? Maybe there is already places that offer us pleasure anglers, the oppotunity to brush up and improve our skills, but I have never heard of any. In conclusion, Education Education and more Education is what we all need. Thanks.
