  1. Thanks , never been likened to a terrorist before, young Carl does frequently though Order just received from someone for 2 pairs of joggers.. ... should be with you Wednesday next week :D
  2. Great post Vagabond I'm fortunate that I run a stretch of river that has got a fantastic head of wild brown trout (into double figures) and even more fortunate that the anglers I allow on the water ALL agree on catch and release and not one single fish is taken for the table. This little gem has been allowed to go un-mollested for many years, and with an abundance of Crayfish as a foodsource the trout have thrived and we appear to have a 'breed' of wild trout that is nothing short of spectacular for a stretch of river in middle England. We have numerous big healthy brood fish and a fantastic range of years classes that give anyone who visits the water probably some of the best wild brown trout fishing they could ever imagine. Thankfully, the land owner of the section I run, see's conservation before £'s and would never allow any external stocking of any fish into our water. But then again, we thankfully, don't have the type of angler who would want such a thing allowed just to 'bag up'... when you can already catch and release upwards of 10 fish an evening when the mayfly are on, why would you want to? The pictures below are a sample of just a few of the delights to swim in our river. Like Budgie though, one does beg the question, why such a programe and apparent financial outlay for such a limited appeal section of the sport?
  3. Saw these fish in the At last week, thought the same as above. This fish was 4.6 .. a tad different to the 4's (?) they are showing
  4. Could possibly be because I never received the images of winners No 17 & No 18 and await winners pictures 23, 24 & 25.. Steve, can you please get these sorted for me, we're getting very busy with Christmas orders. Many Thanks Patrick www.theprintbiz.com
  5. Could always visit Anglers Net photographic Forum sponsor www.theprintbiz.com for a wide selection of photo gifts and other items http://www.theprintbiz.com/acatalog/Calendar.html
  6. Good tutorial Steve, although mine was done with layers and a bit of pen work to achieve the same result, as CS2 is on my laptop and I'm bored at work 'babysitting' some machinery and my PC here only has elements on and tried it another way. Will definitely give it a go with CS2 as you describe though
  7. All Pictures received from Steve are now printed and prizes are being despatched tomorrow. Check your mail boxes Saturday morning. With Christmas coming up, an extra place mat is always handy so the current winners are receiving quality placemats this time. Hope you like them Message for Steve, Please email latest winners so we can get these out ASAP as leading up to Christmas we are very busy.
  8. As of email reply to Steve, one can only apologise. We have just been incredibly busy and had overlooked the anglers net file of previous winners. Once again, many apologies, but life is a hectic creature at the moment.. Still, they will be worth the wait! Regards Patrick www.theprintbiz.com

  12. Just a quick note to apologise to all winners of the photo challenge for not sending out your prizes yet. I have been flat out at work and have not been able to get them done, however, thanks to my lovely wife, she did them today and they will all be sent out week commencing 13th March 06. Hope you like what you get and don't forget to tell your friends and family about www.theprintbiz.com Keep taking those great pictures. Regards Patrick
  13. Correct to a point, but we have just launched a new range of softbox type thing - they're just not on the website yet..whoops! That said, and like above, a number of people by one of our standard boxes and then use it as a lightsource with white material or card/paper. These are also fitted with flicker free lightsources as to avoid banding with some digital cameras. You also need to be aware if it is colour critical work which lights you have fitted and your monitor and output (printer) settings etc. Traditional film was made to be read @ 5000k (natrual daylight), the majority of todays digital systems and monitors are made to utilise 6500k (Northlight - slightly bluer daylight). This usually only has effect when being used within industry (printers, repro houses, labs etc) .. Then again, the whole issue of colour correct lighting gets blown wide open by a number of high street retailers using a lightsource which is 3700K (a very warm lightsource) as it matches their in-store lighting. Makes you look good when trying on clothes etc, but a green suit can 'turn' brown when you go outside etc.. still, I've digressed.. Then again, as no two people see the same colours, does it matter (I did'nt say that)
  14. Gentlemen, If I may be so bold as to offer a blatant plug You will need a 'flicker free' lightbox as standard flourescent tubes may cause a banding effect when shooting digital. Where does the plug come in you ask?... www.lightboxes.co.uk is my company and we are the UK's leading lightbox manufacturer.. I'm pretty sure that I can offer Anglersnet members a very keen price on a pro quality correct lightbox.
  15. Once the order is placed online you are given an order number, this then needs quoting in an email with picture attached. If you prefer and do decide to go ahead, PM me your card details you want to use and I'll do it manually this end
