May be coming back to oz for a 3 month tour towards the end of the year,it is all hinged on my daughter and her boyfriend getting their residency sorted out. We do not know our planned route as yet but I intend it to be a big "walkabout" Would be great to meet up with Hellbelly again and meet you this time. John

The winter shows no sign of a let up here in Whitley Bay. Here are a few shots I took yesterday morning when I had a walk down to Cullercoats harbour just before sunrise. As usual my early morning jaunts always seem to coincide with the Amsterdam ferry arriving in the River Tyne !!!! Just hope that my daughter manages to get up here ok on the train tomorrow. The east coast service was suspended yesterday. Anyway team come on do not be shy,I have shown you mine now lets see yours John

No snow here in Whitley Bay. Nice and sunny with blue skies but its feeling very Baltic I do believe we have some in the post though John

There was a light show on at Whitley Bay Spanish City Dome tonight. Went along and took a few long exposures. It would have been better if the council had turned off or dimmed a few street lights John

As it turns out we have just had a fairly light snowfall overnight so not worth getting the camera out on this occasion. I am sure more photos will get posted onto this thread over the winter though !!! John

I see that both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports have been closed by snow and that its heading south Looks like my camera may be out again in the morning Got a nasty feeling that its going to be a rather prolonged winter for us all John

It snowed fairly hard here in Whitley Bay last night,took this shot at the front door just before lights out !! Had a walk onto the seafront this morning before sunrise looking for a few snow shots,here are 4 of them Took this shot of my old banger on the way back to the house Its just started to snow again here in Whitley Bay. Have seen 2 gritters today so a few are out and about. Looks like its boots on again for the walk to my local then John

The snow has been been heavy here in Whitley Bay tonight but stopped now. Intend going down to the seafront in the morning to check/photograph the sunrise/snow John

Cullercoats beach this morning - note the snow showers out at sea !!! It has been snowing hard for most of the morning here in Whitley Bay John

Nope it was just the longer exposure time made it look that way Could be sea ice in the morning though !!!! John
