  1. i would say chub are responsible,dont forget theres mitten crabs in the thames.
  2. the pic of my one is from the lea,it was a pretty big bugger,i too rarely see small ones,i have had mates who say they have caught pike that have thrown them up but i have yet to see it,and i catch quite a few pike. i think teh chub are more than capable of having a g at them as is a decent sized perch,even carp

  6. i would only use them as bait,on placs already effected by them. bit pointless otherwise...... yes i have tried crayfish style lures,not much but a mate caught a couple of pike on a rubber jig style cray,also had lots of follows from perch,lure possibly too big for em tehy was only smalll perch.
  7. i have actaully caught a crayfish on a lure-a jig i am a lea regular too i have had them bother me in oneweirpool wich at its deepest is over 18ft and has a strong flow,last year i didnt get to bothered by them,even using deadbaits. personally i know a freind who has harvested some and he says they taste ok! gorton, i agree mate stick one on a size 2! no i dont like no they dont go back alive

  10. cracking find chavender! teh abu net i have is a trout style one,but a bit bigger than your average trout net.
  11. hey flibb, i use a collapsoble abu garcia landing net,wich has a 30 inch arm span,and teh handle extends to around 6-7 feet also have a clip so you can clip it to ya rucksack. failing that the good old "wilson" net the round style with green tubing around the rim,i used to attach my one again to the back of my rucksack.
  12. went out to stalk too,found some but they were not intrested at all bugger knew i should have taken me lures instead,i might get up at dawn tommorrow go and lure fish the canal local to me,cant make my mind up,their are some very big carp in the canal,possible to stalk there too, argh! i cant decide

  14. i would love to go and fish for barracuda, and i would like to fish the river lode in sweden,this place is magic,huge pike run up it to spawn,fish to 40+!

  17. i am getting the river carp buzz, i lost a good 20 whie stalking last weekend,ended up spotting 5 good carp one very close to 30 i rekon,hopefully they will be patrolling when i return this weekend...ambush!
  18. have a look on rmc's site,thers a cracking article by singy on using fly rods for carp,he had 2 20's!
  19. nice boris and chevins and even a snotty! my first was a 6lber and my biggest is a 10.09 all my babrel have been caught in london not the thames or lea either or wandle!
  20. like argyll said theres no easy route, have to put the time in and suffer the jacks(small but good fun!?). dont go down the live/dead bait route in summer stick to lures wait for the winter for baits,plus the weed will have died back by then.
