Whoops that should have read 40 miles out ! Pictures do not show how rogh it was out there. See the guy at the back, wide stance and holding onto rail while wrecking, hard work. Not how hard i am gripping the rail. Note to self, not to allow deck hand to take pictures, how many more shadows could he get in I would guess at least half the fish were close and over 10 lb. ...The weather was shocking. Have never been on such a lumpy trip and 4 miles out into the Channel to boot. 2.5 hours steam out another 2.5 steam back. I met up with a Guy from Nebraska in the the Florida Keys, we met on an interweb site both searching for advise on Fishing guides. We arranged and booked a trip and had the most amazing days fishing ever, my ribs ached for days after from the laughter. We remained in touch. A few Easters ago he sent me an email, said the whole family had gathered and after lunch went out into the forest Morel hunting. Now Nebraska being in the Bible belt, i did not want to respond and appear rude so replied and asked..... Morel hunting ? Do you need a rifle ? He found my email so hilarious he read it out to his class (History teacher) and apparently they cracked up laughing. Then it dawned on me they had gone mushroom gathering.....DOH !

I have never had an accident. I look in the rear mirror as often as i do out the front windscreen. I look over my shoulder a lot, even though it does crick nowadays. I indicate when there is someone to indicate too, but, only for a reason, usually hold my beer and watch this. Oi ! i drive a BMW and it has two indicator settings, one slight touch for three polite blips and one aggressive one for " I will be coming off this slip road and when i put my foot down You will look and feel stupid"

Oh and the ride back is was something else....

Thought i had had my last trip out for 2014, but no. I got an invite a week or so ago to have a go for Cod out of Hayling on Valkerie. Snapped up the chance. Was a bit apprehensive about what weather we would get, but not worry, even after the very icy two hour drive down. Rolled into the car park the exact time of my very kind host, The very Honorable Mr.Barry Luxton. The ride out.... Nice sunrise.... The fishing mostly made up of many pesky Whiting. However managed two PB's Firstly my first ever Small Eye Ray... after a million Whiting the target achieved, a nice fatty (Stuffed full of small crab). I had a feeling this could be my first double, so was weighed. I always let the skipper call the weight he gave it 9 & 3/4 LB. Why do skippers do this to me, i have lost the count of 9 & 1/2 er's i have had. So no big smile in the pictures 2014 has been a total success, every mission accomplished and not one trip called off. 8 different ports visited., new marvelous charters/Skippers and B&B's discovered Roll on 2015.
