  3. Has anyone actually managed to catch some fish at Hive Beach or Cogden ?? Have lived here for 3 months now & have caught b**ger all so far!! To be fair I've not really given it a proper go - am just wondering what species people have managed to catch from there & what is best to target this time of the year ?

Only trouble with nice weather particularly on a bank holiday here in Dorset are the bleedin' tourists that come with the weather! demon Already the coast road is 10 times as busy as normal & I've already seen one accident from someone turning out of a camp site! Still, BBQ & beers on the beach later so it's not all bad

Thanks for the tip on the mark at Abbs MBM Spent 9 hours there nothing for the first 8 hours demon then 4 doggies in the space of an hour If nothing else it popped my cherry on my 2 new rods & proved there are still fish in the sea Will be going back regularly particularly as I've now discovered a free parking spot [ 25.   19. Yes a spider crab - managed to hook 2 & I'm certain a claw from a hermit crab as well. That's all that seemed to be out there until some kids turned up, feathered for an hour & caught at least 4 mackerel b*^&%rds!!
