    Rod tip tape/paint

    just got some 3m hexagonal reflective tape on ebay enough for many rods and tripods too

     

    will spiral over last three rings leaving a black white effect

     

    white for night and balck for day

     

    any spares will go on scissors knives seat bow etc :D

     

    make sure you whip the tip lights on the right way round so that first cast dosen't send it into orbit :o

    Has anyone seen or heard of Our Wullie/Billy lately? I've phoned him and last I was over called up to Clachanmore no body about there at all.

     

    snatcher spoke to him before the new year i think but not seen or heard from him this year

     

     

    Nice report. Its good to hear of kids fishing, Im a great beliver in teaching kids the rights and wrongs of angling at a good young age.

    If they take on board the concervation side of angling then the numbers of thinking anglers will only grow.

    all fish were safely returned Caitlin(misstack4) insists on rex hunting them

    we also spent a productive 20 mins on gathering rubbish!!!!!!!! :thumbs:

     

    littletack4 and myself were out again on Sat evening on the hunt for conger at cairnryan pier none showed but he still out did me and had his first codlling of just under the lb :clap:

     

    sunday what a glorious day was spent on the casting field wher we all did well but again kyle (littletack4) was the star of the tacks by producing a string of PB's :clap: putting 15 yds on tohis previous and now can atain 61-2-3 yds-ft -inch :clap:

     

    thats further than my first recoreded cast when i started last January

    littletack4 and misstack4 beat me again!

    fished with a mate from WSF last night at port logan

    well tommy 1963 got to meet the kids klast night and survied them

    misstack4 Caitlin (12) had the first fish of the session .........................whitting about the size of my hand 6-7 inches and a new speices for her :clap2:

    Littletack4 Kyle (9) had the next fish (2) when i thiught i wasgetting nice bangs on my rod struck reeled in to find he had cast over my line nice tangle only took 15 mins to unravel

     

    his result one whitting same size as his sister and a nice dab ..........both new speices to them

    misstack 4 stikes again................. whitting same size :clap2:

    tommy started to get in on the action with same size whitting

     

    me nowt so far........................

     

    time for a break set up the rods and gear at a safe distance from on comming tide and got out the stove for some cooked square sausage and rools with tom sauce, hot chocoltae folllowed ...hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    they were magic :thumbs:

     

    replenished back to the beach tommy had still beeen fishing with whitting again but the same size

     

    not to be out done i baited my rod first and cast before seting kids backup again

     

    hooray .......................... decent knocks .....let it develop no line crossing mine must be a fish for me..........

     

     

    strike .......fish on..................biggest fish of the night a just sized coallie

     

    kyle mean while had a lovely crack off after me setting him up again, Caitlin sat with me and told me that she was having so much fun and was loving every minute of it watching her rod eagerly

     

    packed up at around 9 and started for home showing tommmy a nice bass mark on the way at a secret location

     

    all in all agreat night and really enjoyed by all :sun:

    hey guys another site i frequent has peter thain a current world record holder in surfcasting and rod tester designer for shimano

     

    any way he's had this idea for a world record attempt

    any one fancy joining in?

     

     

     

    how far an idividual can cast is not the point if you cast say 50 yds and do that 20 times you have then totaled 1000yds

    if a fair number of anglers of various abilities come on board it would be amazing and be part of an event that casts "AROUND THE WORLD"

    I know the tack's ie tack4, littletack4 and misstack4 will be doing our bit

     

    once in a lifetime chance

    still suffering lower back ache for 18 worms that took two hours to get and so far a week and a half of greif!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :headhurt:

     

    but they were well deep and find the best way is to find a highly populated(by worms) area and then trench dig approx 4-5 ft accross and usually then dig towards water turning over sand to side of trench initially then back fill with second depth of sand

     

    they are pretty deep this time of year :wallbash:

    where do you start :blink:

     

    fish more often ,

     

    continue to improve my casting,

     

    meet new anglers,

     

    take it easier when fishing with the kids,

     

    for all the tacks to catch on our self made sandeel(snatcher type) lures

     

    improve my lure tying,

     

    to persevere and catch with the SW fly gear,

     

    a double pollack,

     

    a bigger bass than my only one so far of 2 1/2 lb,

     

    a tope,

     

    the list could go on but lastly is to have fun fishing keep making as much of our end tackle as possible. :thumbs::thumbs:

    strange colouration there

     

    but welldone on an excellent fish :D:D:D:D

     

    was out my self last night first of the year down Port Logan SW Scotland

    christ it was wild we only managed four fish landed biggest being a coalie for me to 1 1/2lb once the ebb kicked in we couldn't hold bottom as our leads and rigs were swept into the snags

     

    so its rig tying tonight

     

    that last cast ethos worked for me too with a first for me a lobster colours were stunning all fish and lobster went back to fight another day

    height 6'8"

    weight a squeak below 16 stone

     

    problem brothers wedding in 2 1/2 months

     

    waistline 37- 38

     

    kilt made for my sisters wedding 16 years ago for 32 " waist expands to 35" at most

     

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

     

    why do i love chocolate sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuuuuucchhhhhhh :o
