  1. Sorry what a dipstick!, the top of the handle rotates to secure the reel...lordy things have changed, could anyone tell me if i can buy new tips for my rod as one is broken and the other is 3oz which feels quite stiff, thanks alot Davy.
  2. I think the reel fitting on mine is probably broken then...i thought it was to good to be true, i will post a pick of it later, thanks chaps.
  3. I have just bought a tip rod of a local chap, it is a Shimano Super Ultegra in very good nick, i have been out of the game for a while and have no idea if this is a good rod or not really, the only thing is with it, i cannot figure wheather the mechanism for attaching the reel is broken or not, or do reals attach differently these days, I paid £20.00 for it...cheers Davy.
  4. Lordy memories, my first ever proper rod and reel setup was a Seeley Blue Match Delux, and an Abu Cardinal 44X, it was a kind of a Green colour, it had rear drag and an amazing 6.2 to 1 retreive ratio, I remember checking it on Christmas morning over and over, it was a vast improvement over my Winfield 77 Spinfisher.
  5. Thanks chaps...Steve was the Normark rod you had all Black, I vaguely remember an all Black rod that I really wanted but alas could not afford, I also forgot the Abu Mk 6 Zoom, I think it was Mk 6, that was an all Brown rod...cheers Davy.
  6. Hi I am new to the forum and from what I have seen its really good. What it is,is many years ago i had a 13' match rod called a Bruce and Walker Flyer, it was a brown rod with green whippings if i recall, with a picture of a Bream and a Roach at the butt end, does anyone remember this great rod.At the time Its competitors as i remember were the Shakespear match international, Seeley Blue Match delux and Hardy Matchmaker, which if I recall where very expensive compared to the £30.80 I paid for my B&W.If anyone has a picture of this rod or if someone could take a diggy picture of the rod I would be made up...thanks chaps, Davy.
