  1. I got it about a month ago, it's a handy little book if you fancy having a go at making a few traditional style items, I think it's aimed for at the newcommer to making tackle as it doesnt go to far in depth, but at that price it's worth having.
  2. Dave Dave for a lighter bobbin push that line clip into a short length of aquarium tubing then push a swivel into the other end, tie a cord to the swivel and add split shot if needed and also a night light fits inside the aquarium tubing.
  3. Thank you, i'll now have to take a much closer look at them to spot the difference.
  4. Chesters1, I have 3 different Prince regents well the only difference is the stickers on them the reels are identical, is this different model years? Any idea what years they may be?
  5. Den, if you want to carry it on your own you might just struggle a bit depending on size of the inflatable, but a cheap match anglers type trolley would be ideal to move it about. The last 10ft one i had was a Zodiac and i could inflate it in less than 10mins with a footpump. My friend had a 2m version and that took less than 5mins to inflate. Dragging across grass or mud is ok anything much more solid might be to much of a risk, but you can get transom wheels that make life so much easier. If your only fishing small rivers or sheltered waters have a look at the Sevylor range, they are not the cheap versions you see at the beach, they are very hard wearing i've had a 7ft one for 10yrs had loads of abuse and only 3 punctures (easily fixed) in that time. And they are just about light enough to carry in a decent size rucksack. Scott.
  6. Just to add to this, if you really want a small boat for fishing these waters forget the bic 252 (its a joke) get yourself a 10ft inflatable (or larger). Ive fished on windermere 100's of times been out in some bad weather and the only boat i've ever felt really safe on was an inflatable. If there good enough for the RNLI to use as rescue boats in rough sea's they'll handle anything windermere can throw at them. Plus they fit in the boot of the car so easy and they are about the most stable boat you'll ever get. Launching isnt a problem, if you can walk to the waters edge you can launch your inflatable, you dont need a trailer and storage is easy as well. They all have multi chambers so if you stick a hook through one the other 2-3 will still keep you afloat, you would have to do something really stupid to burst all the chambers. And with a small outboard it will be quicker than other boats of a similar size (but dont go over the speed limit).

  9. There is only 1 thing certain about the match on Sunday, that is about an hour before it kicks of Schumacher will have won the Canadian GP. Final score 1 - 1.
  10. If you are really set on shooting birds then may I suggest you only shoot Cormorants.
  11. This might sound strange but I have 70 miles of shoreline all within a 10 mile radius of my house.
  12. Makes you wonder whats going to happen to all the Carp that keep getting throw in all these comercial fisheries, at the monent once there to big for the match anglers they are sold off to the specimen waters, there are only so many waters! Cant be many years before every water holds Carp.
  13. I remember once seeing a number plate on a motorcycle (parked) that just didnt quite look right, a closer look revealed nothing it was only when I started walking away from it that the numbers seemed to dissapear, I went back for a much closer look. What I found was that the owner had drilled 100's of very small holes all over the number plate. This had the effect of shielding the numbers because if you were'nt directly behind it all you could see was the marks the holes had made in the perspex, a car following you could read the plate as normal, anything to the side of you only sees a grey plate.
  14. Many years ago I was talking to a guy that had parts made for old British M/cycles out in the far east. He ordered 5000 mudguards that would fit either Triumph or Norton bikes, he paid for all the tooling costs etc, when his order was ready they told him they had made 10,000. He had the choice that either he bought the original 5000 and then knew that the other 5000 would be sold off cheaper or he bought the lot. Thats the way a lot of the tackle companies out there will work, once the tooling, setting up costs are paid for making extra versions is so much cheaper. Making 20,000 rods wont cost twice the amount of making 10,000 rods, the same for reels etc etc thats why there are lots of cheap products appearing.
