Forgive me if im wrong,but i thought match fishing was all about drawing fish into your swim using your baiting skill.....first it was bait boats for those who couldnt cast,then it was sonar for those who couldnt catch,now,only in the U.S OF A,its lures with headphones that tell you if your hook is hitting rock/river or lake bed or a fishes mouth...next thing you know,the fishery owner will be donning scuba gear for an extra £50 and putting the firking carp on the hook for em....money talks ,mark my words..

Naturals as in worms,maggots etc.stretched maggots are overlooked in todays society!Floating casters are deadly,and do you know why.no-one uses them anymore .as are shrimps/prawns/cockles and mussels presented on 8lb line,10 hook, hair rigged on the float."boilies" are not the panacea for catching carp easily that certain bait companys would have us believe.far from it in fact.have you ever caught a carp off the top using sunflower seeds chesters1.i have ,and john wilson himself gave me the knowledge to do so.tight lines

has anyone experienced any heightened activity on or around a full moon.i have fished oct/sept and decembers fulls last year.all conditions where different,yet i caught bigger than average carp on these dates .coincidence or luck ?

Wordbender:you say .After field testing plenty of bivvies over the last 8 years or so, I have to say that the worst was a Viper (by a mile) due to cost/performance imbalance.I Disagree .could you be more precise about this .? ive had my viper for a few years now and wouldnt contemplate anything else.i do get some condensation and the odd drip even with a skin on.but personally,i couldnt comprehend going bankside without it.bear in mind im more of a winter carper.Who needs bivvys in the summer eh !!! frosty
