  1. So can we now un pin this please
  2. Went for a box of lures and came back with three boxes plus a large landing net ( ideal for the pond ) two boxes of starlights even though I dont really fish into the late evening nowdays a telescopic tri-pod rest great value for some one who only fishes the local pier a couple of times a year and a reel for a fiver, three ball bearings and a capacity which will make it ideal to sneak into the holiday bag without the wife knowing. Dont worry if your local store sells out soon I bet by the time I have finished this reply they will be appearing on e-bay, I witnessed people carrying handfulls of the stuff to the tills this morning
  3. Tell him if he is late again you will take formal disiplinary action which may ultimately lead to him never going fishing again!!
  4. Fully agree Budgie. As a seller and buyer on e-bay I can say that it1s a bit like boot fairs: In the early days you could find some amazing bargains where people were having a genuine clearout then after a while people purchased from one fair to re-sell at another. With e-bay unless you are searching for a specific item and only browse for the bargains there are so many selling the same stuff from various internet firms ( Askari etc ) that it can take ages to surf just tackle ending that day. That said the bargains are there, Just about to have an early browse before heading off to Norfolk.( Salt tides killing fish and weather warnings!! )

  11. Seen them too and actually will be making some of my own for my impending trip to the Bure soon, Can see the logic of the method and will always try something "new" ( probably won`t use the pellet though)
  12. Hi Tony, Decided to wait for the full season,Haven`t been out since Timsbury really busy at work etc etc! Moving closer to home workwise from next week full complement of managers so fingers crossed should be able to get some in ,Have a good weekend and I will see you soon, maybe a beer before the Itchen?
  13. Hi Glyn, Am up on the Bure myself that week and will have a day boat for the week from my holiday cottage in Horning. Personally I will concentrate on the dykes and backwaters lots of them about. As a guide find the silver fish and the Pike will not be far away.If you fancy a meet one day maybe we can have a team attack on em! Tight lines, Kevin
  14. Fabulous mate, Makes me a bit ashamed I think I might be turning into a fair weather fisherman. I will definately be going out this Sunday. (unless the medways flooded,...... or If it`s raining/snowing ......A bit cold/cloudy.....icy)

Or you can just tie a 2 inch loop of 15lb mono to the eye and you can then pass your winder and rig thru and back thru the loop in the end of your rig.
  16. Rest in peace Gerry, My thoughts and prayers to those you leave behind.
  17. While fishind a backwater of the Bure a mother duck with 10 little ducklings swam past me as a pike of around 8lb swirled and cleanley picked off the last one, about 10 feet from me (the cut is only around 4 mtrs wide.) I thought That was quite a sight but the following year on the Thurne we saw a full grown duck attemting to get away from something that was quite obviously trying to pull it under, The duck succeded and Mrs kayc cast a live bait to the spot which was immediately taken and a nice double was landed: the question is would a 17 lb pike be able to take a fully grown Duck and was it a lucky escape for that one?
