  3. This is a serious answer (but you can use your imagination), Bloke I used to fish with really suffered badly from mossies so we made him a hat with a mossie proof veil which was tied around his neck, coupled with gloves he could fish in comfort. The sight of him walking around with his "helmet" on was like something from a horror film .....but it did work, Den

  5. Is it groundbaitingi.e throwing it in loose, that is not allowed or the use of groundbait by any means? You may get away with using it in a feeder, or squeezed around a leger weight. Most places will let you use a feeder to introduce bait. Den

  7. Thanks for your thoughts lads, Delboy, there won't be much left after the tax man gets his share of it. Now I reckon that along with the free license us old codgers should also pay no tax, get free petrol coupons, free membership to all fishing clubs and a concession on our bait. I wonder if the RSSG can put this on their agenda for the next meeting? Have you all joined up yet? Den

  11. Mally, you may have to use boilies to get the really big tench and bream. It may not be true on your lake but most of the really big ones come out to carp anglers. Check out what the other guys who are catching are using, you may have to use tactics that avoid the "smaller" fish, sad to say that the Sevens can spoil your chances! On the other lake try spotting the tench, you may be able to select your target fish, but whatever don't neglect good old bread flake. Den

  13. Actually that is a damn good idea, free for pensioners. Starting in November so I can qualify in December. By the way did I tell you that I will be 65 then? Den

  15. Paul, do me (and the roach) a favour and please do not put them in a keepnet, especialy the bigger ones, as they lose their scales very easily. I do use keepnets for other fish but not roach. Thanks, Den

  17. I,ve used them in a blockend to get a slow continuous leakage when carp/bream/tench and barbel fishing with success. I usually combine a few pellets with a groundbait mix which releases normally but leaves the pellets in the feeder. Den
