Return they have..... Very few mackeral - a few dogs etc at night but the surprise.... Numerous Thick Lipped GREY MULLET.... Managed 10 plus small ones 4 oz - returned and a nice 2 1/2lb Mullet for my efforts.... on float and the bottom and on mackeral strips and old worms!!!!! Numerous gars to mackeral too boot!!!

Try Sat/Sun at cottages to see if anything has decided to return!!!

Try east of Abbots as catches very bad - Macks and Dogs only --- in no numbers even at night!!!

Wrong day wrong everything according to everyone.. How come only 2 years ago 20 plus a night was average almost every time - species I dont care about just catching something!!!!

Any where as long as after a good blow - happening all the time at the moment and cast into the surf with a running lead and have patince!! :clap:

Several periods of continuous frenzy from bait fish being chased by mackeral - Mackeral in abundance!!! NO OTHER FISH ABOUT IN 23 Hours!!!

Correct fish baits fine at Chesil as long as flatties are not being targeted........

Read some years ago that the shoals like that on chesil contain many millions of fish at first showing.... A few years ago on chesil I personally saw a shoal around 5.00 am where the sea was a bouncing mass for 100 x 200 yds plus............ :clap: :clap:

Not a single bite from the bottam tackle in 23 hours........ But 40 plus mackeral with ease - great .... bait for when the bottam feeders come back!!!!
