  1. After the saga of not being able to get windows updates, I blean install of Win7 64 bit this morning. Applied SP1 as well and all seemed well until I installed Windows Live essentials [just live mail & skydrive] when all seemed well for a while and then I updated windows. Now I'm getting the message "Error ordinal 459 missing from urlmon.dll" and can't download programs such as Flash update, CCleaner etc.

I think I'll buy an iMac.

  2. Sounds great, but my problem is I am always, that's always, hungry.

The more exercise I seem to do the hungrier I feel. I'm thinking of hypnotherapy.

I take metformin as a supplement to my supposed diet but the Doctor wants to put me on Insulin which I don't want to do. I was put on something extra to the metformin but immediately suffered hypos.

    There's no hope. :icecream:

  3. My last two cars - A Ford Mondeo and a Vauxhall Vectra.

Common as muck - nothing special, factory fitted alloys.

Every time I have needed a new tyre - do you think any tyre place near me has the size I need in stock - no chance.

MOT today - car failed as a tyre needs changing - put one on then I tell them - they had to order one from somewhere else which arrived ten mins ago!

How many tyre sizes can there possibly be? The bloke at the garage told me there are hundreds.

The worst thing was not even the local Ford garage holds one I needed in stock.

    GGGGrRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

It's not just the size but the speed rating that adds to the many THOUSANDS of tyre sizes, makes etc. It's 12 years since I was in the tyre business and it was a nightmare trying to keep a good selection of sizes in stock. When I sold up my stock was valued at around £20k at wholesale prices and my place was pretty small. We relied to a large degree on the big stockists around the area, the trick was to know when their deadline was throughout the day.

  4. I'd take issue with that, I've had a couple of Sony's and the were both excellent. Still have one although not DSLR. Also remember Minolta? Didn't Sony inherit all their camera technology and lens? Nothing wrong with Minolta R.I.P

  5. hmmm your really stuck on this one eh?

are you running service pack 1?

if not then manually download it from here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842

to be honest it might well be worth reinstalling it anyway if it will allow you to.

ive known system that wont update at all without having SR1 installed first.

SR1 is installed. It looks like I'm going to have to live with this one for the time being.

    Thanks for trying.

  6. if system readiness tool doesn't work:

    create a new user profile;

    control panel>users

make it an admin. reart pc, log into new profile and test windows update. if that works you have a profile corruption issue and can just continue to use the new profile after you have transferred everything across.

formatting is gonna be the very very last resort! :)

OK Finally got around to doing the above to no avail.

    I had a thought and as I have a 32 bit version of wW7 installed I thought I'd give that a try!

    Sadl the same result.

    Any other ideas please?

  7. Ireland is great if you can handle the weather.

We had a holiday home in Co. Mayo for 20+ years and loved the place, the people but the weather can get you down. It's better down Waterford way but not a lot.

Maintenance costs on the house weren't exactly a major problem but they did mount up [we were on a small cliff overlooking the Atlantic] and regular maintenance was a must.

There's a bit more of a cash culture than in the UK, you must get quotes in writing for any work you get done. Don't get involved in any local feuds!!

We decided to sell up as we are heading into our 70s. We were extremely lucky to sell as just nothing was selling at the time and in fact our house was the last one sold in the area for almost a year. Luckily our site was in a great position and a multi-millionaire wanted it.

Mayo is a spectacular place and I'd always recommend it over the East coast where life is so similar to the UK, hectic, fast and crazy. The West is laid back and there's some decent fishing in the sea and the rivers and loughs.

By the way you'll really need to buy a boat.

If you want to know anything else drop me a pm.

  9.

There's a similar site that a mate recommended for footy, but its full of little 'x's and as fast as you close them, they pop up again (well, within a few minutes, anyway). Gave up in the finish - the screen was tiny anyhow, and the picture quality so low it gives you a headache.

Doesn't do that on Coolsport + you can access full screen as well. It works for me no problem.

  10. On Coolsport now race about to start. I hope you are watching Barry.

Is there anything you can't get on t'internet?

If you are on Coolsport you need to find the little 'x's and closes all the shite. There's usually about 3 to close and then all should be ok.

  11. Really can't stand that arrogant prick Vettel. Come on Mark, stick him in the wall next time out, cobber.

I don't know about Mark sticking him in a wall, I wanted him to punch the horrible little scrote. Another Alonso.

  12. Has a death certificate been issued? Without one no funeral can take place.

As Den said you cannot just take a deceased person where you wish. Generally a body is only released to a funeral director, also perhaps a post Mortem may need to be carried out? It's also an offence not to register a death.

Sounds like a job for a solicitor.

Condolences and hopefully the outcome will be as requested.
