  1. Anderoo, so you have given up on the dropshotting then, or is it not allowed on a commercial venue?
  2. Vagabond "Now treating the hole left with Savlon externally and Highland Park whisky internally." Remember there is an inverse correlation between the application of this rule and the input of whisky.
  3. Do Headcorn still have a lake a Little Poplar Farm Ulcombe?
  4. I am not posting as often as I used to, but then again I am not Coarse fishing these days; and Coarse fishing makes up the bulk of the threads. I stopped looking at the non fishing political threads a long time ago.
  5. San Diego Jam knot (a grinner variant) and Palomar, for me. I use the rapala knot when using lures when a wire trace is not required.
  6. Leon Roskilly can advise on this I think he only uses circles for his Pike deadbaiting thses days.
  7. Grandad if they are like the KAPS waters at Ulcombe, then they are fishing well for Carp, if that is your thing.
  8. Grandad Do you mean the club waters or the River Beult?
  9. Dave G Where is Kingfisher lake? Tony
  10. Barry You should know better than to wrestle with dogfish, at your age
  11. My biggest Rudd (2lb 12oz) was caught on a fly at Bucklands Farm Trout fishery; it was about 15 years ago though.
  12. Newt Have a great day! best wished from Tony and Sue.
  13. I have witnessed this myself in Cuba, a Snowy and a Great White Egret used to hang around the hotel water feature where visitors fed bread to three captive Flamingoes. The Egrets used bread to lure fish in the pool to the surface where they then snatched the fish. A little greeen Heron used to also hang around the floating bread snatching fish but had not picked up on the fishing technique. Tony
  14. There are three venues in England that make me want to go fishing, they are: (in no particular order) The River Test in Hampshire, the River Coquest in Northumberland and Wingham in Kent and I have been fortunate to fish all three. Tony
  15. Dave What a great trip report; we have justr got back from Cuba, but on this occassion the fishing was pants. Errm is still out there perhaps he has had better luck.
  16. A really good report, I fancy hauling the caravan up to Scotland and visiting a few of the Trout Fiisheries and perhaps pay a visit to Snatcher on the Mull. Tony
  17. Anything she can do so can Sue, (well not on two pound line!!!). Sue's Dorado
  18. Dave Yes the symptoms wore off quickly, my problem was that although the Gout was relieved by the steroids I was on such a high does I had to gradually reduce the intake rather than abruptly stop the tablets and as such I was on fairly high dose for over a month. Not long after I suffered a recurrent attack of Gout and had to start all over again and as such i was on the bloody things for nigh on three months. thankfully taking the steroids allowed the alluprinol to kick in and i have not had a major attack since. Tony
  19. Our current cat has never gone beyond the back garden; but the late (and much missed) Marvin a neutered black and white Tom, used to disappear on occasion and turn up two or three days later non the worse for wear and as Steve says turn up expecting breakfast as if nothing happened. Tony
  20. Dave I was on a similar does of Prednisolone 50Mg when I suffered an acute attack of Gout NSAID's did nothing to shift it but the steroids got rid of it within a week. However I can confirm I suffered all of the side effects you mentioned particularly the last one, an inability to concentrate or follow a train of thought. Probably worth it as the pain of Gout is excruciating. Tony
  21. John Sad news indeed many of us on AN are actually cat lovers so we feel for your loss. Tony
  22. Another thing I remember about them is that they were not very robust.
  23. I am sure Daiwa used to use and supply a similar ring ring a decade or so back.
