  1. Hi All, Does anybody know if you need a boat fishing licence to fish from a kayak in Portugal or if you are covered by the shore licence also I have heard that Kayak's in Portugal need to be licenced and have third party insurance but like most things Portuguese it's all abit vague? Any info most appreciated. Cheers, Jason

    Salt water

Chuby, at Kyrenia you will find mullet in and around the harbour, get them feeding on bread and fling a fly that looks like breadflake at them, it's also worth making up some flies that look like maggots as they also feed on sandfly maggots dropping off floating seaweed. Also sewerage outlets are topmarks too for mullet!

    personal best

I'm all for catch and release, however probably 75% of trout fisherman don't have a clue how to play and handle a fish that is to be released. Watched some guy today keep a 4lb brownie out the water for 3 minutes before releasing it to its slow death at the botton of the lake.

    Rod Repairs

Dave, think you will struggle to get a butt section to match the rod characteristics or repaired as all they will do is fit an internal spiggot. Maybe you could make it in to a dustlight 3.5 WT to match your new Plueger reel!!!!
  6. Also the Plueger was "best in test" in Trout and Salmon earlier this year. JayP
  7. Dave, have a 3" plueger for stream, small river fishing and for the price can't be beaten. http://www.nimpopo.co.uk is the cheapest place on the planet to buy. i paid £41 for mine!. JayP
  8. Buying a good coat will be your starting point + a hat + gloves + thermals! Regards JayP
  9. Argyll, think you could be right, cheap nasty flies for the stewpond androids and quality flies for the fish. Regards JayP
  10. Ok, so being fairly new to fly fishing and not being enough hours in the day I have been buying my flies online IE Selectafly, Fulling Mills, Timeflies etc rather than tying my own. On Saturday I went in to the local Orvis shop and I have to say the quality of flies was amazing compared to what I’ve been buying on the net, however they were between 40 and 80 pence more expensive per fly. So my question is will I catch more with the Orvis flies rather than tho net bought ones I’ve been using? Regards to you all. JayP

  13. Hi Roland, don't know how Hazelcopse is fishing but if you go please post a report. Tightlines JayP
  14. Has any one bought fly gear online from America? have seen a fishpond pack 50% cheaper in America but will import duty etc make it uneconomical? Regards to you all JayP
  15. Fishtec are doing clearance on airflo rods for £39.99 plus matching airflo line for a tenner. Personaly i think an 8.6 ft 4/5 WT would be your ideal rod and check out orvis rocky mountain reels for quality and price.. Actually maybe go for an orvis outfit from Glasgow Angling. Good Luck
