  1. Might be something to do with the birdseed in your bait Steve?
  2. Think alot of them try it,even sum of the pokey puddles try charging a fortune for a day ticket,as daz has said they'll soon drop their prices when noone turns up....Blackland lakes i hope your reading this .putting prices up and all thats changed is having numberded match pegs, must be expensive paint!!!!!!
  3. i'm a regular at shearwater and yes longleat is now open, said to be fishing well and yes , top lake is the same true to form.shearwater on the other hand is very slow, mainly due to the bankside disturbance and clearing over the closed period.plus the fact that it was dredged adding another 2ft depth has made it challenging to say the least  Please let us know if u have a successful visit.
  4. Whilst on a session at shearwater last season,a group of carpers were baiting their swim and casting out when an old couple walking dogs passed behind them, to the embarressment of the gent and the almighty roar of laughter from all concerned, one guys hook attached itself to the said gents cap,and along with bollie an all went sailing into the distance .one guys comment was "i didnt know there were 'CAPFISH'in ere?
  5. SIMPLIST WAY TO MAKE POP UP'S IS TO MICRO WAVE THEM
  6. OR....."DONT THINK MUCH OF HIS SWIMFEEDER!!"
  7. "ITS MENT TO BE MY TURN....I'M GOIN HOME IN A MIN!"
  8. simple...first choice would be the Sourse, second Mistral rosehip
  9. i spent friday morn and overnight at shearwater lake wilts, temps hit minus 6 at times and YES it was dead as a dodo! when u get to the stage of having nothing left warm to put on and already look like Michelin man, then its time to head home
  10. has any1 been there and give me some info please, how much for night sessions and do you need book?
  11. COME ON FOLKS ,ONLY ONE MORE REPLY AND I GET A FLASHY POST!!!!
  12. thanks chesh, i used ur advise and TOP BANANA!
  13. personally i dont like using artifical baits, not only because my success has been limited but to me it takes the fun away.we will all be using rubber dog bones and plastic hammers before you know it
  14. think nowadays there some quality bivvies from most respectable brands/companies, all comes down to personal preference and resources, beats the days of tarpaulin frosty
