  1. Hi Specimin / Yaskalos I have a Ryobi masterline project 12 boat rod (whatever that is ha ha!) It was a present from a friend who fishes from yaks / small boats a lot and he has one too. We have pulled some big cod and a few nice skate (which were like trying to pull up dustbin lids, from the Irish sea!. They perform very well and I dont think they are expensive. Would post a pic but havnt tried that yet. Will try tomorrow when I attempt to post my new yak pic.....all the best SDD (Dave)
  2. horaaaaay my new baby has arrived! I am now the proud owner of a new scupper pro TW. Not the colour I expected but stil nice (I thought sunrise was a gradual flow through of red - orange - yellow, whereas it is nearly all yellow with a bit of red at the back! LOL still nice though. Will take her out tomorrow for a quick spin on local estuary. I will post a pic tomorrow and a quick heads up of what I think of her (greaaaat so far!) A fair bit bigger than my old Perception Carolina was......bring on high tide tomorrow! yehaaaa!. The chaps at Bournmouth Canoes were superb getting her (and a few goodies) to me so quick! Great bunch down there! May even take my rod and have a quick dangle LOL..........Tightlines........Dave
  3. Hi Newt Superb! Thanks for the info, only hours now before I become proud new owner of OK SPTW. It will feel good to get back on the water after losing my kayak and gear in a fire. Have to start again (shop shop shop)Its amazing how a bloke who hates shopping can enjoy it when buying Boys Toys ha ha Think thats an exception to the rule!. Cant wait to start outfitting, which is new to me, only fished from SIS before which is really tricky. This is where a superb site like this is so helpful to people!! Superb, freindly advice, ideas, comradship, and people who have a GENUINE interest in the same activity. LONG may it continue I say....Thanks AN ..............Dave

  8. Hi Jaffa Thanks for the welcome!. Yes I did fish from the Carolina but found it dificult with a SIS (rod stuffed into rigging elastics!) should be easier with a sit on top. I live 2 mins from the sea (Irish Sea!) so can get out quite a bit!. I seem to be the only one who does it around here lol. Lots of small boats further out towards Isle of Man though!!. Can't wait to get out sooooooon! Dave
  9. Hi all I am a newbie. Just ordered a OK Scupper pro TW and she arrives tomorrow, can't wait. My SIS kayak (Perception Carolina) was destroyed in a fire so I am really keen to get back out on the water. YY's outfitting looks really good and has given me some great ideas. To Olly, my mate bought drip rings, cut with scalpal blade and super glued bac around paddle shaft!. Been on 2 years that I know of!! Will post a pic of my new baby when she arrives....soooooo exciting! cheers all.....Dave
