How do all you Ferox fishers fancy a get together some time on a nice Scottish loch.Might be a bit late to try and put something together for this season as a lot of you will probably have booked your trips and holls for this year but if enough people are interested it would be good to book something for next season.Dont know about everyone else but i have never met anyone i have spoken to on this website.Would be a good chance to swap info have a laugh and maybee have a beer or ten if any body is up for it post in where you fancy going,when,and whatever sounds good to me --------------------- Did you know that fish did not smell till women started swimming in the sea. Howdy pardners. Know you have heard it all before but just looking for advice.Emailed company in America regarding downriggers,price was good ,postage was good but when it came to duty i was told that i could ask for gift or self to be ticked on package to avoid duty being paid.Have bought from states before and it has been a lottery whether i was charged duty or not but on downriggers it is the difference of a bargain or not. :confused: If anyone has had experience of this it would be kinda good.Was told to contact post office regarding this but i am afraid that the buggers steal them when they come in. ------------------------- Did you know that fish did not smell till women started swimming in the sea.

Hello Pikeybob Where do you get your char from but mind and mention it quietly as char sometimes kick up a stink on this forum.I tried Garry for a couple of hours a few weeks ago but it was blowing a gale and no fish were caught,i used to get mine from Doine but apparently this has been bought and is now private. Norrie put your foot down mate and get up to the Qouich.Ferox over smoothound no competition, although in saying that you will probably get more sport.I have not fished Quoich for about 15 years but there are some big fish in it but it is a very barren sort of place,gave me the creeps at times when i fished it.Hope you have a good time with the smoothound. Hello Pikeybob Had the boat a few weeks now and managed to get out on Lochy last week,fishing was crap but the boat was excellent.Was thinking about downriggers myself but i was going to fit mine on to a downrigger board across back of boat.Unfortunately spent all my dosh on boat and aint got no money for riggers yet so will just have to wait.How is Awe fishing just now usually hear of big fish at start of season on Awe but not heard anything yet. ------------------------------ Did you know that fish did not smell till women started swimming in the sea

Hello Norrie Fished garry on sat morning but unfortunately the wind was howling down the loch in to our faces.We fished for a couple of hours but we never got any char or trout for that matter.We went up to lochy and managed to get four baits on a no1 mepps to get us started but although the small uns were biting the big ones were not we fished all day with two dead baits and a lure on the poker rod but we did'nt even have an offer.Sat night my son Daniel fished the margins with maggots and caught six lovely small browns we kept four for Sundays fishing.Sunday started quite blowy and we thought for a while that we may get blown off but after a couple of hours it settled down in to quite a pleasant day apart from the fish.No fish and the same as Sat not even an offer.We heard of a 15lb fish that came off to a lure on Sat but apart from a couple of rainbows that was about all for the weekend.Won't be beaten though we are making plans for another trip in May but hopefully with better results. cheers Kevin
