Really like that 1st shot Snatcher!
Been playing about in the garden with my new camera.

Hi all,
Recently got a new camera and am well impressed as it is so much better than my old one.
I love photo's that really focus on part of a photo and the background kind of blurs out.
For example, J.K's flora picture.
Is there a way to do this or does the camera do it automatically?
Cheers all

Anyone fished Oxlease lake recently?
Going with a few mates in a couple of weeks. Was wondering, what bait, tactics etc.. people would recommend?
Cheers

Hi guys,
Know someone selling a Fuji Finepix S3000 for a decent price and was wondering if anyone has experience with them?
I understand Fuji Finepix are great camera's so it got my attention.
I would mainly be using it for fishing, so as long as it took a decent mug shot I'm not too bothered.
A self timer would also be handy, not sure if it has one?
Also like to take a few scenery/landscape shots, so was wondering if anyone knows if it's okay for that sort of thing?
Many thanks, Dan

Nice one Rudd, it often pays to take a different approach as you have shown today, well played sir.

Yep, I heard about this from the aforementioned mate (who denies any further knowledge!). Excellent timing, I expect the fens will be alive with record breaking zander at the weekend, we'll be reeling them in all night
In all seriousness I'm very excited about this trip and I think we're in with a good chance of some decent fish. (The fact that every time we fish together we blank consistently is neither here nor there!)
Anyone dare to confirm this rumour?
Best of luck mate.
A good mate of mine (a top zed angler) is having a run of blanks at the mo, but someone else I know has recently had a 15lb+ so you never know.

no one fishing today
Like that one mate

Simon, Norfolk is full of lakes that are open in the close season. It really depends on how far you would like to travel on any given day.
I'll give you a few day ticket options close'ish to where you're staying.
you could try:
1. Gunton Estate Lake about 8 miles towards Cromer holds a fair head of large carp, stacks of bream and roach.
2. Gimingham Lakes about 6/7 miles, through North Walsham, towards the coast. 2 lakes both with some good carp and tench
3. Hevingham Pits about 10 miles, over the Norwich-Cromer Road. A great little mixed fishery
4. Holly Farm Lakes about 8 milesjust before you get to South Walsham on the B1140, a small fishery that would suit the youngster.
5. Bure Valley Lakes about 8/9 miles just before Aylsham, has some large carp plus other great mixed lakes.
or find the details for Blickling Estate Lake which I think opens on April 1st (or at least it used to) which has a few tricky largeish carp, lots of bream and a few large tench. Theres a fishery at Cawston that might be worth a look, a good mixed fishery at Reepham.
The slight problem you have is that being in Dilham you really are in the heart of Broadland, so any inviting looking bits of water you clap your eyes on are likely to be out of bounds until the new season is upon us.
Slightly further afield of course, you've got places like Catch 22 at Lyng, Lenwade Bridge Lake, Taverham Lakes plus some good waters near Gt Yarmouth such as Hall Farm Lakes at Burgh Castle....
Have a look at the map and give Google a go.
Hope I've been of some help.

Has Bure Valley opened again then? Been closed for the past few years..

Awesome

Cheers all, actually found some I like, but thanks for the help anyway.
Any wellies can be slipped on quickly and generally have good grip. Probably even available in realtree, so you can pretend to be a proper carper. Not actually carping, but predator fishing

Hi all,
Looking to buy some form of bivvy boot. Doesn't actually have to be a bivvy boot as such, just something I can slip into when fishing nights without much effort. I'd also like them to have plenty of grip as I fish steep banks.
Trouble is I have some slip on shoes, but they have no grip. I also have some boots with good grip, but they can't be slipped on..
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Look forward to that one

Anyone fished it recently?
Going there soon, only fished it once before and that was for bait, so wasn't after anything huge.
Many pike? Good for lure fishing?
Cheers for any replies
