  1. Plenty of boats launch from Minnis Bay at the weekends(between Margate and Herne Bay). There is a padlocked gate across the ramp but when busy is always left open.Get there early and you can park free in the road. There are plenty of skate being caught and hundreds of dogfish.Fresh herring best bait at the moment, squid good aswell if you dont mind catching dogfish allday.Once launched you only have to travel 1/2 mile to get amongst fish. Hope this helps. PS would have been happy to meet up but have to work this weekend
  2. Hi zzippy, is the caper still for sale, cheers mark
  3. Well done, cracking picture........apart from the hair
  4. Feel a bit gutted now. Decided to travel down to kent from chelmsford on sunday to try for bass from the knolls. We had fresh mackeral for bait, frozen herring and squid.Launched at 0930 at Minnis Bay,from here its about 6-7 miles to the Knolls.Fished for about 2 hours and caught only dogs, we moved to the Longnose bouy as there is more tide run there but again only dogs.Travelled back just before low water and anchored up a couple of miles from Minnis hoping to get some skate from the banks again only dogs Not much chat on radio except for reports of small skate and schoolies and loads of dogs.Came in about 1630 and got home 1940.I actually enjoyed the day as i gave the engine agood blast due to the flat sea and got abit of a tan .I'm definately launching from Brightlingsea next weekend tho

  9. Cheers guys for the good info, just hope the weather holds.
  10. Thinking of launching from Brightlingsea on sunday, first trip since december.Hoping to pick up a few codling but has anybody heard of any thornbacks moving in yet. Thanks in advance Mark.
  11. Elton, maybe you should consider a good secondhand 3X3 now http://www.landroverpushchairs.co.uk/
  12. Nissan Terrano II for me, loads of room, fold down seats and very relliable.Pulls my warrior165 all over the country no trouble. If retrieving from a beach its best to fit "dirt tyres" as road tyres can still slip in 4wheel drive, does make motorway driving noisy tho.
