  1. Hi All, Ive just uploaded a collection of some of the video clips that will be featured on the brand new Gardner Tackle website in the new year Its been great working with everyone at Gardner, and hopefully, we can get some more done when the weather improves! Heres a link to the clips - http://websitetourvideo.com/index.php?Id=2 Tight lines everyone... Phil
  2. Lovely looking clip Guillaume! I also produce fishing related video clips so its great to see some monster fish like that on video over the internet. I must admit, at times, i wasnt so sure of the music, but overall it works really well. -phil
  3. Thanks for the feedback John, I think they sell it like that because its sold in sets of 3. Three different sizes for three different types of fishing scenarios. The alchemy in the video is specifically designed to fished up close to the bank in shallow water, where as their longer "spectre" float is aimed at much deeper water, a longer way out. So i guess in some sense, if you buy all three, you are covered for most types of float fishing! but this it self sounds like a sales pitch which it isnt meant to! it was just to try and answer your question really. Thanks for watching the clip anyway!
  4. hi zenith, The guys who make spectre floats (lance rathbone) is based in leceister yeah, but im in St.Neots in Cambs. I Travel all over the country though!
  5. A picture is worth a thousand words - but a moving picture is worth thousands more! With the emergence of ever quicker broadband access to the Internet, video content is proving to be a major selling point for business promotions online. Broadband allows website visitors the opportunity to "stream" short video films or “clips”. After careful consultation with the fishery owner, we spend the whole day at your fishery, pick out all the very best scenic shots, fish being caught and all the other services that you provide (bait huts, toilet facilities, food & drink, accomodation etc.) The footage is then edited with professional editing software, adding background music, titles, and even a voice-over if desired. You choose how long your clip needs to be and what you want on it, theres no hidden charges. Hosting options are also available, so the speed of access to your site will never be any slower. If you have any further questions about this brand new service, then please dont hesitate to call. As a special new introductory offer, prices start from as little as £300 for a two minute video clip. Please visit the website to see examples of our work – www.websitetourvideo.com Best Regards, Phil Begnett WTV Videographer, Producer

  8. Hi Ferret, Unfortunatley mate, i dont work for spectre floats and the freebies they offered me i left in their office! (DOH!) I
  9. Hi Everyone, A while back i came on the board with a new business idea of creating promotional video clips for fishing related websites such as fisheries and tackle makers. Well, the idea is now fully off the ground, and ive got a few jobs under my belt! The latest one is with "Spectre Floats", an ingenius method of catching carp with a brand new float design. Here's a link to the clip - http://www.spectrefloats.co.uk/html/tips___video.html The guys at Spectre floats were very happy with it, but i just wanted to know if anyone could just check it out for me and let me know if thought it was helpful or not. Im always on the look out for new jobs to do btw, so if theres people out there involved in fisheries or tackle/float makers then please get in touch with me. Thanks for reading, and i apologise if this is frowned upon as spam. Just trying to get something going!! -Phil
  10. sounds like an amazing days fishing that. Im off to my local fishery on sunday and hope to get the same kind of action with silvers, but what i really want is to land my very first tench. Is it better to go for natural sweetcorn or a sweeter variety in this hot weather?
  11. Many thanks for fixing the link for me Newt. Thanks also for all the feedback you are all giving me for what may be seen as a bit of spam... so thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback...... what ever you think of it helps a great deal. Its a fantastic place to fish up there at Manor Farm.. i went up when i was a little in-experienced a last summer float fishing on the blunham lake and a fairly decent carp just "ripped" apart my float set up.... my fault entirely i know! Will be going back up there with my newly acquired Polemaster Margin Carp pole as soon as i can to see if can land a nice fish or two!
  12. hi there, Ive just finished my first Website Video tour of my local fisherie - Manor Farm. what do you think? www.websitetourvideo.com/manorfarmfishing.wmv Link fixed. On dial-up just now and going fishing so will look later. Newt
  13. hi all, Thanx for all your feedback so far. I hear what your saying about the 360 camera thing but im finding that these "virtual tour" cameras or "online webcams" are all just a bit too static. Im hoping to be spending all day at a fishery, filming lots of different areas/views and wildlife etc. Add graphics/titles on the screen to give more info about different types of fishing in each lake etc, so its like really being there having a nose around, but at the same time, keeping it short and interesting so it doesn take too long to load up on a page. The last thing people want is it "wait" for something to watch for too long!
  14. Hi Everyone, I really hope this isnt frowned upon as spam or a blatant sell as it isnt meant to be. Its just a keen fisherman thinking of a new business venture! Im starting up a new promotion service called W.T.V - Website Tour Video. The idea is to approach companies that have websites, such as Fisheries and offer them a short "video tour" to put on their website. What i want to know from you lot is, would this of interest to you when your thinking about planning your next fishing trip? Would you be interested in seeing a short tour of the fishery your planning to go to? I.E. Shots from specific pegs, bait shop, surrounding countryside, some fish being landed etc. Anyfeed back, good or bad would really help!
  15. many many thanks to all your comments so far guys. Im starting to realise that what from the outset seems a relatively easy form of fishing, also needs a lot of practice and skill in setting up the pole, elastic & bush etc. I will definatley start up a "phils pole fund" jar sometime soon! Will, Do you ever go to Tingrith Fishery? I visited a few weeks ago thought it was a great place. Its a 60 mile round trip for me but i thought it was well worth it. For a place thats virtually "under" the M1, you dont really notice its there! Maybe we could meet up there one day?
  16. quote: I discovered long ago that I dont care what species I target, what venue I fish or what method I use, as long as I am angling I am happy.Yeah i like that attitude Rudd. I started my love for fishing when i used to live down in Cornwall and used to fish off the sea wall at Mevagissey. I only did it for one summer, and then unfortunatley, i had to leave and left fishing along for a few years. Sitting against the seawall on a sunny late afternoon are some of my fondest memories.... anyway, yeah i want to try all styles of fishing as obviously you have to when you "start off" course fishing. For float fishing then, would you suggest that the Pole is better than the rod? Peter, whats a Yottie?!! My mate lure fishes for pike on our local waters in st.neots on the River Ouse. He makes his own lures using childrens farm animals like cows and pigs etc and threads trebles through them. Quite funny looking!!!
  17. so is there a definate "us and them" attitude when it comes to pole fishing then? Is that down to how much they cost though i wonder?!! what your saying rudd is get them all, and be prepared to experiment and try all the methods of fishing there are that suit that particular venue/day?
  18. Hi Everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend. I didnt make it to the waterside, so it meant a weekend of daydreaming about fishing instead for me! It led me to really start thinking seriously about getting into "Pole fishing". I rather like the idea of the ready made rigs, the way you can target an area of the water, especially the margins with pinpoint accuracy with your groundbait and your hookbait and, more importantly, i wouldnt have the problems i have right now with lose line on my reel to worry about!! mmm saying all that just makes me sound like a lazy beginner who wants instead results doesnt it!! ah well. I will still have my match rod and reel to practice with forseeable future until i can afford a pole anyway! Anyway...... I Wanted peoples own views, stories, attitudes the the whole subject of Pole Fishing... good or bad.. postive or negative. Over to you!
  19. quote: I managed to get all my gear to the lake via my motorbike, gear in sports bag over shoulder, sleeping bag on back and rod's/landing net tied along the sides, and to think most people cant fit their gear in a car.heh. quality!
  20. BLIMEY! I just checked out Shatterford's website. That place looks lovely! Im not so sure about the "alarms" and waking up each time you get a bite throughout the night type fishing, but i accept you get bigger specimen fish that way. I do have my own 2 man dome tent that i could take with me to fish...i guess that would be ok instead of getting a bivvie wouldnt it?
  21. quote: a nice flat piece of ground/grass where ai can put my box down, then i'm away, anything to get snagged on, i'm snagged on it!!!heh.. now that sounds familiar mate! Im hoping my snags will "disappear" in time! I went fishing the other day for 11 hours, i must have actually "fished" for about 6 of them, the rest of the time, sorting out problems with all my equipment!!
  22. Im going to try my hand at stick float fishing on the river ouse at st.neots. Theres a lovely named place just before the town bridge called "Treasure Island" that looks a great place to fish. Just hope its not too busy!!
  23. Im fairly new at this fishin lark. Ive been at it for about 18 months now. I had a random thought the other day of how much you can compare it to camping. The actual "camping" part isnt really the reason why you go camping on its own.. alot like fishing.. its not all about "catching the fish". The prep work involved is paramount in both things. Having the right equipment, making sure it works, choosing the best sites, making sure youve got the right clothing, food and lighting. I guess i need to gey myself a bivvie and start night fishing to get the best of both worlds dont i! LOL
  24. Hi guys, Im toying with the idea of trying out expandable pellets for the first time this summer. Just wanted to know what is the chosen way to fish with them.. is it ledgering or float fishing? Im predominantly a "float" fisherman myself. Saying that, i tried out "float ledgering" for the first time at the weekend and caught my biggest ever fish to date! (nothing special but it was to me!) I used a method feeder filled with maggots instead of using a bomb or ssg weight and used two AA shot weights under the waggle float to cock it. Reason why im saying all this is because i want to try different baits that wont always attract the "smaller fish" like maggots do. Are pellets the answer for a float fisherman as a hook bait or should i go for chopped worm?
