  1. Hi. Ref your point about Flyfishing venues in your area... you are really well placed for a number of good venues. Bank House Fly Fishery, Caton Lancs is a good spot. Stocks Reservoir by Clitheroe is another good venue as is Barnsfold at Goosnargh. If you want river fishing, The Lune and the Ribble are just a stone's throw away too. I run a bit of a fun website for fly fishing in the northwest and have venue information etc on there. Try www.flyfishnorthwest.co.uk the venue map is on the home page on the lefthand side near the bottom. There are also a number of places you can get top calss tuition if you want it.
  2. chuby - how did you get on ?
  3. I have found the best technique to use is to fish a tiny (size 22)fly with just the most subtle dubbing of black wool whip. Daphnia are tiny (about 1mm in size)so don't tie in a big lump. Try free lining a team of three and fish them like you would buzzers. Use as long a leader as you can and wait for them to hit it - they really nail it. I enetered a 9lb 6oz specimen caught in this way for Troutmasters this month - it worked for me.
  4. MY FIRST POST !! I cannot recommend a line tray enough. Whilst fishing a local reservoir recently, I stood on my fly line which was on a sharp rock. it cut through it like a hot knife through butter - I went out and got a line tray straight away - best £20.00 with hind sight I have evr spent. akes a bit of getting used to
