  1. I've got one and use it with a Cobra Fish'n Dive. Murph
  2. Same at Kielder in Northumberland Murph
  3. Yes i have one of those GB and fitted an electric motor to it just to see how it all went together. Works just fine. Particularly useful on an FnD as the paddling can be hard work after a while. Murph
  4. Here's one (will it work?) similar to Gedi's except it supports a weighty old Cobra Fish'n Dive

  7. Yep Steve and there are restrictions where boats are allowed and Kayaks are not for the purpose of fishing. This is particularly true in England but there seem to be less restrictions in Scotland and next to none in Ireland. A post last year indiacted that there were waters in Wales that did allow Kayak fishing and also the Lakes. From my own experience I tried a number of stillwater fisheries in Northumberland and was told in no unceratin terms that kayaks were not allowed as fishing craft. Something to do with insurance and public liability. One water told me that I could put the kayak on the water but couldn't fish from it So there you go Murph
  8. Is it a case of warmer waters Spanner/Simon? You see those fish out this way particularly in the Gulf Of Oman and Persian Gulf but I never thought the North Sea would attract them. Its all I can do to put my toe in the water at Warworth. Murph Sorry Warkworth
  9. Crikey would never have thought it possible. The North Sea always feels so cooooold to me as a soft southerner. Murph
  10. Anyone seen one of these in UK waters? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/5256918.stm Murph
  11. Leonr You won't find many - North or south. I have a few names of places but just moved house so please give me a few days to find. It seems that you can fly fish and kayak on some waters but you cant do the two together - Kielder Water for example. Regards Murph
  12. Shad, I used well nuts too for my Scotty fly rod holder. I ordered marine grade ones from kayakfishingstuff in the US. Regards Murph

Hi Snapon I bought a Cobra FnD which is also a wide kayak and capable of handling a motor. I bought it mainly for the stability as I am not a particularly accomplished kayaker. Its a bit of a barge really but it suits me as I am not built for speed either (6ft 1in -18stone). I looked at the Outback but went for the Cobra. So far no problems but I would echo the comments about weight and portability. I have loaded the FnD on top of a Disco and a Patrol and wish I had bought something lighter. Wish also that I was capable of paddling something lighter and narrower!! As for the electric motor - yeah I have rigged one after up taking advice from the US sites. Its helpful when you try paddling a barge and you get tired so I have used it a few times and paid very little for the motor in the scheme of things. Don't know if that's helpful. Murph
  14. Yeah see what you mean. Very emotive Murph
