  1. i wasnt too sure about pop ups. then sunday i used them for the first time got my new pb of 20.5lb i intend to use on one rod always now and see how it goes
  2. ive had plenty out!! first one of the season was over 10lb!! thats my first one since i was a little boy. just in the last week, i had a 3lber out of a small river. then down my local day ticket saturday night had two carp 8 and nine pound off the bottom on boilies. then last night same place stalking off the top using chum mixers soaked in curry powder had a couple out. gonna go back tonight i think. may give marshmallows a try?
  3. yeah its not good, but i spent time last night tying rigs and mixing groundbait, just bought a pepparami wideboy. I SHALL CATCH CARP TONIGHT!! RAIN OR SHINE. Anyone got an opinion on pepparami as hookbait?? just on a feeder rod. got tuttis on my carp rod
  4. and look what i netted!! after taking twenty minutes to net this beautiful 10lb mirror, 30seconds back on the alarm and off it went again, second was an 8lb and later on had a 9lb. i was so happy, first legally caught carp of the season and its a double!! just roll on sunday for more sorry about the huge pic.

  7. hi mate, your in the same boat as me. if you look my thread 'hi guys' some of that may be useful for ya! alot of useful stuff in all the threads tho. Ive got a rod and reel and that sorted, making a trip to the tackle shop on saturday to get properly kitted out, cheaply hopefully

    Hi guys

    yeah cheers, purely carp fishin this year, going sunday. payday friday so rod liscence and the basic tackle on sat. luckily im going with one expert and one quite experienced mate. and they comin to the tackle shop so can advise, theyve also lent me some books and vids. i will definatly check out that magazine mate thanks. met a mate fishing last night, there was carp moving everywhere he was there for a couple hours and had a 7lb one out - five mins after i left obviously!!

  13. idiot here with a question. what problem does the river rising cause??? or do fish just not feed due to the change?? bedfordshire way we have had pretty constant rain all morning and heavy for last half hour
