  2. hi all I've been a keen sea angler for nearly twenty years and would really like to have a go at pike fishing and some eels. ive never coarse fished before but caught plenty of eels in estuarys and tidal rivers but the bigger fish seem to get caught in fresh water. can anyone point me to a few marks around the northumberland area and recommend a reasonably priced rod and reel that will cover both pike and eels thanks

  11. excellent post leon i've been that young kid taking my catch home to show my parents but now return more than 95% of my fish the other 5% is for bait(mackerel only) or the table which i don't see a problem with providing they're not undersized [ 14. 13. hello everyone totally agree with introducing youngsters to angling my son is three and a half years old and loves every bit of fishing we can manage. i came across the following article in this weeks shooting times magazine and couldn't believe what i had just read, here it is word for word ATTACK ON FISHING in a letter to a newspaper the campaign officer for Animal Aid criticised the Environment Agency for encouraging angling, particularly among youngsters who are on their school holidays, stating: "surely people can think of more productive things to do with their spare time than to cause physical harm and suffering to fish and destroy our riversides in the process" [ 14.
