  1. Its nice to dream, shame it will never happen
  2. The only rule I'd suggest is not to make too many flavour concoctions at once. Stick with one for a few sessions and see how that pans out, before tweaking for perfection or scraping it ready for your next weird and wonderful mix I have in the past, passed some of my mixes onto a few mates to try on different waters as well before deciding whether to stick with it or put in the 'WTF were you thinking?!'' pile

  4. Make more of the same rig out the same materials with the same hooks to present the bait in the same way I always do in the hope it may improve my chances of catching a bigger one somewhat despite already doing nothing wrong and currently catching Apart from that listen to the radio, read the odd book, smoke far too many fags and see what I can pick up on my long range, multi channel walkie talkies (can quite interesting sometimes)
  5. Found this little site today well worth a visit if you're intending on popping down to Exmouth You can take control of the camera and pan around to give you an good idea of weather and sea conditions http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/webcam/
  6. Any signs of the mackerel in around the south/east Devon beaches at the moment?
  7. lol luckily for me I bought all my expensive gear (carp & sea) before meeting the missus else I'd have bugger all gear but lots of shoes and handbags
  8. Is there any chance of a quick sketch of that float/lure set up you use it seems to do the trick?
  9. Firstly congrats BH and secondly what tactics were you using?
  10. I too went out last weekend on my first bass session of the year at Exmouth, Devon but this time with my wife on her first ever trip out with with me After a quick lesson in rig set up and hook tying she was off and fishing by herself, apart from baiting her rags after I told her they bite It was the usual simple set up, ball weight, with a 2 foot trace to a size 8 hook and rag worm bounced along the bottom It was about 10 casts or so before I was into my first about 20 yards out was only about a pound but that was enough to the get the heart racing and eager to rebait and catch another. This made the wife a little jealous but gave her more determination to stick at it and catch one of her own and sure enough she did, bigger than mine too Time to get serious, I can't be beat by a woman, let alone the wife she'd never let me live it down. I was in again able to use my power and cast a lot further than she could to reach a spot where I though I'd just seen bass surfacing and I wasn't wrong. Within 30 seconds of it hitting the water I was in and this time it felt a lot better, it scrapped a fair bit on my light set up and when I finally got it in she weighed about 4lb A few more smaller ones between us and it was time to pack up and head home. The next day I had my arm forced up my back and was forking out for a new rod and reel for her, a bright pink set up at that, not that I mind means I get to go fishing a lot more without the nagging so hopefully its gonna be a win win situation
  11. I'm off to Pallington next weekend and was wondering how the stonze pool was fishing at the moment. I've never fished there before so and help would be appreciated.
  12. I fish around the devon area and had several bass from Exmouth and Shaldon last season, but i've failed to catch anything so far this year and was wondering if the bass about yet and if so where are they? [ 27. June 2005, 01:48 PM: Message edited by: Brett W ]
