  1. Thanks, Vagabond and Tony. Rustam
  2. Tony: Thanks for the suggestions but I am looking for a casting rod as I prefer using a baitcaster. Infact I just swapped my Shimano 6500 BTR for an Abu 7000. Vagabond: Your last post reminded me of another question that has been nagging me. Are there any 2-piece uptide rods with sections of equal length? I have been loaned a brand spanking new Shimano Beastmaster uptide rod but I am not comfortable using someone elses tackle and the 6'+ rod tube is rather a pain to fit into a small car. Besides an uptide rod are there any other 9' or 10' (shorter the better) two equal section casting rods that can cast an honest 8 to 10 ounces a fair distance and have sufficient backbone for big mahseer should I be fortunate enough to hook into one? Price is also a criteria and I would ideally prefer something in the 50 to 75 quid range, though I could stretch to a 100 quid if I really must. Thanks.
  3. I am glad you mentioned that, as that was the question I forgot to ask. I will be using an Abu 7000. Tony U: Thanks for the link. It certainly is a lot more affordable and if I come across a few good reports, it would definitely be a contender. Thanks for the replies. Rustam
  4. Many thanks for the replies. Other than Mainwarnings, are there any other online shops I can get one from? Vagabond, just out of interest, what was the largest mahseer to have tested this rod to date? Cheers.
  5. Other than the Abu Conolon Pro Travel uptide rod are there any other that are currently available? How would you rate the Abu Conolon Pro Travel uptide rod. Thanks. Rustam
  6. Argyll was amongst the first to welcome me on here and stood up for me when I had a bit of an arguement with one of the big names in fishing. He was amongst the first to join the Indian fishing forum and when I asked about tackle shops in London, not only did he provide me with two links but offered to get the tackle and deliver it to the hotel my parents were staying at. This from a man who did not know me at all. It was only yesterday that I was cleaning out my Inbox and deleted both his PMs and he passes away on the very same day! My condolences to his family and friends. Rustam
  7. Does anyone use this? The search function did not reveal much and I am looking for user opinions. Thanks. Rustam
  8. Pardon the newbie question but are we talking mono or braid? Thanks. Rustam
  9. Could someone please recommend a good tackle shop, preferably one with a website, in Barcelona (Spain). Thanks. Rustam
  10. Glad to hear that, Andy. I repeat, there is no 'they'. It's a one man show to date. Rustam
  11. Thanks, Ken. I know about that project but it has yet to start operations. Any progress on the spinning version of the Penn Wave Blaster yet? Rustam
  12. Nothing to do with me, Kempo but thanks. Rustam
  13. Hi Ken, That's me foxed then. Which site are you refering to? Rustam
