  1. when ever i throw the smaller fish back on the pier they always appear to float on the surface and get taken by the gulls so i went on another forum and found a very good solution that i didnt even think about. anyway i thought i'd share it with you because maybe like me, you dont like killing fish for no reason. so if you catch a fish you want to release you: place the grip wire from your lead weight carefully behind one of the gills and then you can lower the fish slowly into the water. i will be using this method when i next go so hopefully it works, dont see why it wouldnt
  2. can you please explain. i gather its a fishing game but is it an online one or what? sea fishing or freshwater? real venues? realistic? etc.....
  3. lets all arrive in stronsay on the nite of 21st july or early morning saturday 22nd july. we can then fish for how ever long we want. i'll prob be at least 1 week, maybe the 2nd weekend aswell. people who dont want these date can come up with a better date if we all agree. people can come and go when they want. if everyone agrees then we have a date for people to start booking time off work etc.

  8. i get the impression these are a killer bait for big bass so i need to get some. how do i get hold of some? there is a place i can dig them but they are quite small and i can only get 1 or 2 because they are so fast. how can i improve my chance of digging a good quantity? is there anywhere online that i can buy them? thanks in advance

  11. yep just looked on ebay, probably gonna buy one. i'd rather spend a tenner than lose a nice sized fish
  12. big_cod im using 15lb mainline and 60lb shock leader. mjb, what should i go prepared with if i am targetting big fish
  13. i've never really thought about it but if i was to land a big bass on a live bait on a pier how would i get it up the wall if i didnt have a drop net?? what is the maximum weighted fish i can pull up a wall without the risk of it breaking? if i lost a big fish (especially a bass) i'd feel like jumping off the pier. i'd hate it. has this ever happened to anyone on here?
  14. i like catching loads on the beachs because when you get 3 or 4 on a beach rod its fun for me. i always put them back unless i am going to use them for bait and i occasionally take the big ones home for the pot. i never bag all of the mackerel i catch unless i am actually going to use them all within a week or two.
  15. well more fool him because when he goes back there, there wont b as many for him to catch. what are the restaurants doing buying from him anyway. isnt this illegal?
