  1. My kids bought me a pair of 10x25 waterproof bins from Jessops, I think the were on offer at about £30 but the best thing about them is that they are yellow and black to match my P13. Perfect. Oh I seem to have gone from being a tackle tart to a yak tart. Oooo Err Misses
  2. Austen, now you just go and wash your mouth out. I dont want any of that smelly bait stuff in my yak.
  3. Come into the light spuds, get yourself a 10weight fly rod and have some real fun with tope.
  4. Hi Squatter how you doing. I was going to pick up the yak today but work got in the way, so hopefully it will be Thurs/Fri. Are you still taking yours to the clave as we arranged? See you soon mate. ps. Do you have anymore Scotty fly rod holders, or know anyone this side of the pond who has?
  5. Hi Leon Welcome to the board. I’m over in Kent. I’m about an hour and a bit travel time from Brighton, so if you fancy a paddle around the Sussex coast any time just let me know. I’m fly only, not sure why you want to go over to the Dark Side, stay pure, stay in the light, stay on the fly.
  6. Hi Steve, good to see you here mate. 1st post in 15 months, not like you to sit quietly in the corner not saying anything.
  7. Yer it looks great Elton. I think we will have to change the carpet cos it dont go with the new wallpaper.
  8. Blimey Simon thanks for all you work sticking that lot up, it must have taken most of you day up. If we forget about the whole leak stuff with the Prowler. I am looking for a yak that I can use all year round to fly fish the coastal waters primarily in the southeast which will range from the fairly flat water on the Kentish flats to some quite good swells in the Channel. Safety has to be my primary concern, as most of the time I will be out on my own. So what would be your number one choice of yak? If it’s any help I am 6’ tall and weigh about 14 stone. I want to get this right before I shell out £600+ Thanks again for all the trouble you have gone to. Regards Malcolm
  9. Hi SM Thanks for the reply. Are those Prowlers that are leaking all leaking from the same place i.e. the scupper? Is the problem happening to all the colour range or is it limited to just one colour? I really like the Prowler but don’t think I could put up with all the sodding around if I should be one of the unlucky ones that picks a leaker. I am thinking of the Tarpon 120 over the 140 because a 12' yak will suit some of the creeks and backwaters I have in mind to fish so don’t really need the extra 2' and I can store the 12 easier than the 14. Is there a reason for going for the 14 over the 12?
  10. Morning all, I had made up mind to get a Prowler 13 but am now having some reservations with all the stories floating around regarding leaking. I don’t really want to wait two or three month until OK get the problem sorted out. I’m being a bit of a big kid here, cos I want it and I want it now. Anyway I am now looking at the Wilderness Tarpon 120, and was wondering if you guys had any views on this yak.
  11. Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I have come to the decision that I’m going to have to buy two yaks. I feel that the tandem will only ever be a compromise as far as my fishing is concerned, and from a safty point of view I would be reluctant to take it out solo in anything but fairly flat conditions. So I think it’s a P13 for my fishing and next spring I’ll take the wife down to Brighton and have a look and go in the tandems.
  12. Thanks for the reply GB but I have only just convinced her to go for a sit on and don’t to cloud her judgment, besides she wanted a puka Indian canoe, bows and all. Hi Squatter how you doing? Hope the English lessons are going well, mind you looking at a couple of post on this forum you keep slipping back into your native tongue. I really think that a yak gives us so much more freedom and we are able to fly fish our regular marks for so much longer than we can by wading. I know that you are a big fan of tubes but you are a little limited on there use in the sea. At least with a yak you have the option of fitting outriggers if you know the sea is going to be a little lumpy. http://kayakfishingstuff.com/articles_view...yak_Articles=31 Jamie is worse than me; he's always looking to lighten his wallet. When are you of to Canada Mike? If you come across the Scott fly rod holder can you get me a couple and I will pay you when you get back. Not sure when I will be going for one but I'm hoping it will be this side of Christmas. Have a great time in Canada Mike. Goose
  13. Hi Guys I’m a saltwater fly fisher and new to this whole kayak lark, but for me it could be the ideal vessel. I have used a trailerd 12’ 6”open boat to date, but just cant be bothered to wait till the tide is right for a launch from the all to few public slipways. At the start of the summer my wife kept saying she would like to canoe around the local coast where we live, which is Whitstable in Kent by the way. But she loved the idea of an Indian style canoe. After a few months I have finally convinced her that a sit-on is a far better and safer option. So I am looking for some advice on a tandem sit-on yak. It needs to be just as suitable for both solo and two’s up use. Most of them seem to be around the 13’ mark but don’t have a lot of on-top storage for when it is being used as a two man. This could be a little limiting if we wanted to go of camping for the weekend. The yak that takes my fancy at the moment is the Ocean Kayak Zest 2 Exp http://www.brighton-canoes.co.uk/productpa...ak-zest-two.htm . This seems to be about right for two adults and can take a good payload for weekend trips. As the blurb says, it is slightly narrower than most other tandem yaks thereby making it faster, and I assume easier to paddle as a solo craft. I could always fit the Mini Kota 50 that’s sitting in the shed. So have you guys any suggestions as to which could be my ideal yak. Regards Goose
  14. Not cat fish though, ugly buggers. Goose
  15. I'm similar to GB, but I started of bait/lure coarse fishing, then pike on the fly, then into the salt, so I evolved into a fly fisher and will now target anything with a fly rod. This year I will be targeting most fresh & saltwater fish with a fly rod. Goose
