  1. im looking forward to seeing the results with sweetcorn this time. surely there must be an easier way into that place, im not bothered either way the exercise done me good.
  2. hi spartafan im also new to fishing and got great help from these forums. the day i went for my gear i met up with someone from these forums and went to the glasgow angling center in port dundas and then went to the forth and clyde canal which is a 10 minute walk from the angling center i caught a very small roach and the practice has done me alot of good, bit of advice is to take a friend when you go. although we never had any problems with neds you just never know around glasgow, tere is also a part of the forth and clyde called "the firhill basin" which is seemingly a great part to fish and is also in port dundas "near the glasgow angling center". if memory serves me right i heard someone mention they seen someone catch trout, and definetly pike [ 10. 5. interested to see what you guys think a good days fishing is. i havnt been alot but the last time was an awsome day was when i came home totly puffed out and unwinding on the couch watching tv thinking of all the things that happened that day. the fish were a bonus
  6. no doubt in my mind the kid will get all his gear back plus some more. terrible thing when somthing like this happens. i remember getting the train a long time ago at night and got mugged from 2 junkies i never again took the train at night but its not much of a problem few years down the line. i just hope this kids confidence to go out fishing again will not be lost forever, some advice to him would be a good idea like clubs to join where they go out fishing in numbers and im sure he would be more than pleased and feel safe and secure, i myself dont like to go fishing alone incase of such incidents.
  7. its great to see you all throw stuff in for the kid but hes going to end up with more tackle than his local tacke shop hehehe better hope he has a large shed
  8. hey thanks jeepster just what i needed, have other sites but none animated this is perfect
  9. sickens me to hear this happening. you can bet money on it these men were 1) junkies 2) mindles thugs im puting money on 1. i feel so sorry for the kid, 18 months of saving to have it stolen. i hope they catch these people and give them some hard time next to some big gay guy.
  10. ajay and stevep you make me feel like im realy old and im only 20, i remember jumpers for goal posts stealing sand from the play grounds for lines and i loved the jubblies, black current. dont even think they do jubblies anymore atleast i havnt seen one in years
  11. that sounds an awful lot like the sales assistants and tech support at PcWorld. they are around all these computers and dont know jack about them and they expect us to trust their judgment. typical tech support: yes sir you need to reformat using your windows 95 boot disk. me: excuse me im on linux tech: this is for pc support not penguins [ 06. 13. dont think some fisheries would be happy with a dog sniffing around and leaving nice little packages all all about the place and the havoc that could follow when one gets excited when someones bringing in a fiesty fish. nothing against the idea though if a fishery has the proper er stuff? to handle dogs
  14. that is just pure evil but funny to watch demon
  15. np, i hope your area is fine
  16. nbsp was only thing that sprung to mind thinking of spaces, anythin could be used, preferibly somthing that isnt a letter as you might end up replacing letters in the actual title or use somthing that is definetly not in the title [ANSPACE123] all soaces get replaced with that and so on
  17. if you can do a search and replace for all items in title in exel replace a space with code: it should replace all spaces with the above then you can find the one with loads of nbsp in it, once you clear the one with loads of nbsp at the end you can then do another replace and replace code: with a space code: is used to make spaces in html [ 05. 21. hi everyone you probably seen me post few weeks ago about what to get for starting out i got help from Andy macfarlane and today we met up at glasgow angling center in port dundas jsut 15 minute walk from my flat. we browsed around the store and found a Leeda concept match carp rod (12ft) for £30 and an okuma interceptor for £30. along with the usual hooks, shot, floats, bait and im well chuffed with my outfit anyway we headed down to the canal for some lessons to find out the guy at the desk forgot to put the maggots in the bag so i had to go all the way back to get them which was only about 10 minutes away, guy at help desk was great he said "oh only some maggots here nae bother" so off i go back to the canal then we get settled znd within 10 minutes i caught a 2oz roach. its small i know but to me it was gold dust. anyway in it goes to the net, few hours later and a lot of bites later andy pulls in another roach just a little smaller than mines but andy got the catch of the day when he hooked a huge bargeboat. lets just say, it got away along with the float. i wouldnt put the size of the fish down to skill as later on we moved further down the canal to find that some older fisherman were getting the same size of roach as us. all in all great day to learn the very basics and im extremely chuffed with my roach, which i didnt get a pic of i call him freddy. anyway slag me as you will as you cant put a downer on my mood [ 04.
