  1. Please Help ! The Portland Coastguard Helicopter is due to be removed from service by the government. Those with an in depth, local knowledge of what this helicopter does know that it saves lives. We need 100,000 signatures to raise this issue in parliament, so far we’ve only got 11,262 and the petition closes on the 23rd August Please sign the petition by clicking http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/30225 Please help to keep the Portland Coastguard Helicopter, don’t forget, they regularly transport people from accidents on land to hospital, not just at sea and are a vital resource in transferring sick patients between hospitals across long distances within the UK. Please forward this to everyone in your address book. We really need all the help we can ge Many thanks Ian Dr Ian Mew Consultant in Anaesthetics & Intensive Care Medicine Clinical Director for Major Trauma Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust NB –these are my own views and not necessarily those of the hospital.

  3. Hi all For those you know Colin, the skipper of Flamer3 based in Weymouth, he was suddenly taken to hospital on Thursday. I was due to go out with him on the following day but of course all trips have been cancelled for December. I am sure we all wish him a speedy recovery and he will soon be back to work. Coddy

  5. Don't know about North of Watford but suggest Poole/Bournemouth. Good fishing in the harbour/beach and plenty of shops for FPO. Dave
  6. Try using a Mepps No 2 spinner with the blade in Gold or silver with red spots, add a little bit of ragworm, about 2" on the hook and cast away. It works for me for thin lipped mullet. Dave
