  1. Thanks guys thats helped a lot! GlennB: yes we played with that rule as well. I think the rules we played were a bit hit and miss but definately the basics of nomination whist. Im meeting them all again on friday for the weekend so im off to get some practice on an online version before then. Thanks again guys.
  2. I am a spurs fan too! But must say DB is a legend and i will remember him for years to come! Mainly for the pain he has caused me over the years tho
  3. Hi was hoping someone could help? I was on a fishing trip to france with some freinds where i got quite addicted to a certain style of the trumps card game. The people i was with called in nominated trumps but cant seem to find an online game under this name or any info on the game. The trip was a while ago so bear with me on the rules of the game! The cards are dealt in the following way first round 10 cards to each player, second round 9 cards etc. untill 1 card was dealt then you would rise again up to 10. So there was a total of 19 rounds played. After the cards are dealt the person sitting clockwise from the dealer would call how many hands they would win, then the next player and so on untill everyone has called! The person to call the highest number of hands or the first person to call that number would then nominate what the trumps are! The scoring system was basically a point for every hand you got and if you made the amount of hands you called you would get an extra 10 points. The player at the end of the 19 rounds with most points was the winner! Im sorry this may be a tedious post but i really enjoyed the game, and havent been able to find an online game or any info on the game! As i say im not sure the name "nominated trumps" was correct or even if we was playing the correct rules so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Chris

  5. Yeah i hope it throws up some surprises aswell mate i will post on here when i get back and let you know how i get on. Boozlebear, i will be using a wire trace as i always do when spinning, but it is a very good point, from my experience that isnt something alot of anglers do whether through not knowing or just stupidity.
  6. Lol cheers zedhead. I was thinking of getting down there about 6 just before sunrise. I hadnt thought of spinning so i will take a small outfit as you say. Please dont tell me your a gooner
  7. Ok cheers Tony U I probly wont be fishing regularly as it is private property owned by a house and this is a one off, but if it goes well i might see if i can arrange something with the owners.
  8. Do rekon it would be worth taking some groundbait and baiting up an area in the deeper end?
  9. Hi all, I have been given permission to fish a one acre lake that has never had fishing allowed on it. It has just been taken over by some new owners and i asked them if me and a friend could fish it this sunday and they have given me permission as a one off. The lake has a stream running into it which is full of small brown trout, when i was younger i also see a dead chub about 4lb on the surface of the lake trapped at the weir. There is big trout in the river where it runs off from the weir but they cant get into the lake. The lake is about 2 feet deep at the end where the river flows in and 10 feet at the wall by the weir. The lake appears very snaggy round the edges due to tree branches. I am unsure what is in the lake as is the owner if anything!! I was just wandering if anyone had any tips on bait i should use and tactics? Any information would be appreciated. Cheers Chris
