I have fished with "sammy" lures and personally i dont think they are half as good as storm "chug bugs".I think the topwater action of a chug bug is far superior to a sammy,plus 95% of all my topwater bass have been caught on chug bugs.My favourite colours are the "redhead" pattern,But really at the end of the day its all about the lures which you have most confidence in. Hi Dosh you dont need to use a swivel with plugs or lures.Just tie them straight on,if your planning on using a variety of lures in a session it may be worth considering using a small snap swivel .I use a size 1 snap on the end of my braid,they are small and light enough not to affect the swimming properties of the lure,and are invaluable if you swap and change lures frequently hope this helps, Steve
