  1. Had a few packs of the freeze dried stuff and left them in shed over last winter, thought I better give them a go only to find that the mice loved them! Not one left out of six packs.
  2. It is a nice rod Norm, I like the length of the Super Match Extra and the Extractor is an excellent doggie hauling rod.
  3. An exclusive review of the new five rod range from Ian Golds - http://www.planetseafishing.com/reviews/re...lds-beach-rods/
  4. If the level wind is not a deal breaker then I'd recommend the Avet SX, goes perfectly with my Solid C.
  5. And a dodgy question about competition boat fishing in Etive :whistling:
  6. Elton, just tried the link from your sig and got page not found.
  7. Been out with Ivan a number of times. Always and excellent day with brilliant craic, still trying to improve his taste in music but you cant beat congering to the sound of wailing guitars! Top Cat is a good boat with tons of space.
  8. Some info here m8 - http://www.fishing-argyll.co.uk/sea/loch_creran.htm

Meeoow guys, best of luck to both of these "inventors" for having the initiative to progess the ideas for commercial gain.
  10. The pirk is a tip action rod and has a beefy mid and butt section. 8lb class used for spinning, pirk casting and light bait fishing for flats etc. 8 oz lead is about as much as it can comfortably fish.
  11. All depends on the rod, I have an 8lb class Shimano one which would require to fish to be pumped up but my Diawa Pirker wold cope with a straight wind no problem. Just like a ringed rod really.
  12. The Diawa Saltist Interline is still on the go, Alderney Angling have them. Grauvell also do on as did Shimano. I have the Diawa Interline Pirker which is excellent for that job.
  13. There were lots of bream about last week and quite a few bass in the Race. Some excellent blondes to 27lb on the kidney bank and conger to 60 lb + on the inshore wrecks. Mackerel for bait were a bit scarce. An unusual couple were a ballan or 4lb and one of 5lb 15 oz on sabiki lures off the Bill!
  14. The past few times I've been out with Pat he's boarded on the seaward side of the town bridge down near the harbour office. Cracking big boat and excellent craic with Pat and Rick the crewman (who makes the best cup o coffee in the Weymouth fleet :-))
  15. Strangely enough there's a post on another forum praising a recent 36 hour trip on this boat.
