  1. he hasn't fished for 4 or 5 years.... just the other day when i was round his house he said that he has bought improve your coarse fishing magazine and didn't even know what some of the stuff in there even was, then when i asked, he said "alot". Also he stated just how much fishing stuff is camo these days, made me think just how much of it we all have!
  2. 13ft abu garcia match rod A sundridge reel(bailarm) with a numbered clutch for extremely quick adjustments. **i picked up that sundridge reel from a carboot sale haha.
  3. hello keiran mate, the best thing you could probably do is either buy a coarse fishing starter set( in there you get a little book explaining near on everything a begginner needs to know) or tell your tackle shop that you wish to begin coarse fishing and don't know where to start. Hope this helps ya mate. CC
  4. Hey all.... I have just got my dad back into fishing after he quit about 4/5 years ago. Has anyone got any advice that i could give him on the modern equipment and that way things have changed during this time? Any advice at all would be much appreciated! CC
  5. I know that you stated you wanted to 'upgrade' your float rod, but last year i bought myself an alivio match rod for £29.99 and have never felt so much value for money on the bank... Also is ideal for stalking with the centrepin because of how amazingly light it is! - Its well worth considering mate!
  6. Hey all, I recently discovered a single red spot underneath the chin of one of my catfish in my aquarium, not knowing what it was, i left it untreated. The catfish died the other day and it was one of my longest serving fish! Has anybody heard of this symptom before, or anybody know what disease/illness it could be? Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks, CC
  7. U can barely keep a neon tetra never mind a moto stingray....haha

  8. Topps mate i really think you should check out the links the other guys have given you, i can clearly see that you are an enthuastic fisherman, which i great! But if you really care for the fishes welfare then you would take note of these guidlines. Even though pike dolook aggressive and tough, they have really delicate skin due to vibration detetors in the lateral line.... I you want pike to fish for....you have to keep the ones alive which you catch...so they can produce offspring! And one word of advice....keep to using full words instead of TXT talk....there's a few on here who will get grumppy about that! Cheers, Clax
  9. im not familar with this river, but isn't every river worth fisihng once? The littlest and pettyist of rivers have produced some of the worlds best fish!
  10. oneillbox - all i can think of is that you are not keeping the hooks securely in the pikes mouth by keep the line tight. I have always been taught that the line should be tight at all times when playing a fish. Otherwise they can get off! I use semi barbed hooks and only put the barbed hook in the deadbait and i have never had any problems. Again, as budgie says, this is a good thing as it can be rectified immediately!
  11. Dav - You should really hold onto a selection of them........Remember different spinners/lure work well in different conditions. Can't hurt to have a few extra lures!
  12. [The best feeling in fishing for me is when i hook into a decent fish and the hooks thump into the fishes mouth, so you can feel the resistance big time.....And that magic clutch when it starts screaming as it pays out line....mmmmmm....
  13. Rivers round my area at the moment are terrible. Low, Murky and the fish are very difficult to find!
