Hi there Steve, If you want a paddle just tp get use to your new Yak when you get it try a run down exeter canal to the estary its a good 9 miles there and back with two pubs on the way and makes a good few hours out on flat calm water. Hi Manrock, I am not aware of any Kayak Fishing courses but the Kayak center on Exeter Quayside will have information on local training or try the Brtish Canoe Union who will no doubt have some information for you in this area. Hi Chaz, I have a pair of the Jobe Boots which come with a neoprean sock already inside. In the summer months my feet were really warm and as for the colder weather all I do is to wear a pair of nylon socks as well, todate my feet have always kept warm and like yoursel no doubt if you feet get cold you can start to lose interest. Hi Norton, Neoprean wristseals should stop any water running up your sleeves just be sure that they are not that tight as to make you feel uncomfortable, Im sure if you are planning to buy your suit from a shop they will advise you. As for the crate and access on the water it is case of being able to twisrt around to get to it or once you have enough confidence to sit side saddle on your Yak you can access that way. It is worth having a play in water that you can stand in with your Yak so you can practice moving around, sitting side saddle, sliding up to the bow to gain access to your front hatch and taking off and putting on the hatch, rocking your Yak so you get to know what point she will finally tip over at and getting back on your Yak once you are in the water. That way you will get to know your own abilities and the Yaks. Have fun and be safe ChrisW

Hi Cannonfodder, Welcome to the madhouse, first of all may I say that you are in the right place to have all your questions answered. I myself am a ex Ilfracombe lad and know the shores well over there so please be very aware about the tides and currents on the North Coast even though it is very tempting to launch from the harbour and fish around Hillsbourgh and Capstone on a fine day they are alot of hidden dangers around there. If you are ever around the Torbay area it is always worth dropping a message on here as you will no doubt be joined by a couple of the local guys who will all be willing to have you tag along. Hi Karl, I have my fishfinder, battery and transducer virtualy on top of each other with no problems of interference at all. My transducer is fitted under the cup holder on my Prowler 15 which is just about central on the Yak. I have fitted the transducer in a bed of marine silicon and is still stuck solid where I put it after numerous loadings and unloadings from the roof of the car and many launches and landings. Hi all, The date for the Ilfracombe trip is the 22nd July. The high tide is going to be around the 11:30am mark. If you are interested in coming alon can you please let me know via this forum so i can contact you indivudally concerning times, meet ups if required and bait. Of course weather permitting as per usal but going by the Gorran Haven conditions it will need to be rough to put us off. All the best Chris
