  2. Rodney (Rod) Marsh, Australian cricketer, left handed batsman, wicketkeeper extraordinaire, aged 74 after a heart attack.
  3. Once watched a docco on the old wagon trains heading west, in the USA and a couple of girls, possibly in their middle teens, explained walking alongside the wagons, holding out their long dresses to have a leak.

  5. John Landy, aged 91. An Australian middle distance athlete who famously ran back in a mile race, to check his mate, Ron Clark, who had fallen after clipping another athlete’s foot. Landy went on to win the race.
  6. G'day mate and welcome, there are stacks of kayak fishos in Australia, most of them chase marlin! A friend of mine had one and was fishing when a 12 ft tiger shark swam under her kayak!

  8. As the wet is about to start in earnest, I have taken up a new hobby for when it gets too soggy to tend the orchid collection. I have been perusing Google Maps, looking for English crop marks. Quite interesting finding them and noting them down. So, @chesters1 have a squiz at these, then sharpen the shovel, charge the battery on your pinger and off you go... 1.   12. My last English rod was a two piece Millbro Caledonian that I bought when I went back to Bradford to see the oldies. I brought it back to Western Australia and tried it out on a barramundi in the Ord River. It survived against a 7 lb er, but got smashed by a 19 lb barra, It was not the fish, so much as the harsh sun, as it resided leaning against the garage wall, north facing…
  13. At age 14, er, some years ago, I bought an ex army tank aerial for a rod...You could say that was a tad heavy...Now, I have a couple of ugly sticks for mackerel and trevally and a couple of Daiwa Heartland rods for barramundi fishing.
