  1. What if that Cat had caused damage to your car or caused you to skid off a motorbike etc, would the same owner be so keen to offer you 'Damages'? I believe that if a dog is off it's lead or on the loose and it causes an accident then the owner is liable for any damage . I don't think you have to report hitting a Cat to the Police, oor would it be classed as ' Kitten-Run ' ? !
  2. Thanks for that game Tony, my best to date is 511.5-- Obviously you guys had the wind behind you when you threw
  3. LOL ! Hey , you have spoilt the Movie for me now !
  4. ok, i may of taken the bait and as Koi says there probably was some exageration to make a show. Some of the previous week showed alot more scary driving than was shown last night. The one where they had to reverse with a boat on a trailer was amazing to watch, one driver asked Quinten if the trailer followed the car lol. The other day my daughter was passenger in her friends car which is painted bright yellow and everyone comments with things like Whow! where are my sunglasses  etc ! They where in an outdooor carpark crawling along slowly waiting to exit when a woman drove straight out of her parking bay ( only moved about 4 foot )and into the side of the bright yellow car causing £1000+ damage, nobody was hurt but the womans comments were Classic, " Sorry, i didn't see you !" So these drivers are out there ! Safe Driving to you All!
  5. 'Chewits' bought some the other month and they seemed to be airated/whipped. a few chews on them and they melted away to nearly nothing  Bring back the Texan bar, that was a Mighty Chew ,lol.
  6. Channel 5 this evening at 8.30 pm. I watch very little TV these days but this program has got my attention and i have watched most of the series. It started with ten or so Bad drivers ( i missed the bit about how they were selected )and each week the driver who the panel thinks has improved the most is given a car to keep. Tonight it's the final ( i think )and the remaining three bad drivers fight it out to prove they have improved their driving the most , the one that does will be given a brand new Jaguar to drive away and keep! There is two women and one man left, the man is an ex Policeman and held a helicopter licence once ! You would never guess from his driving Has anyone else watched this and do you think these drivers are for real or putting it on ? All these drivers have Full Licences and it's scary to see them driving and makes wonder how many others are out there on the loose on our roads?
  7. i have noticed that when i have posted on here and had to edit my spellings straight away that edit time is one hour earlier, example posted at 10.05pm , edited at 09.05pm , one hour before i even had posted ! So somethings out of line.
  8. Pendulous ( see 'Ghost Stories' thread )
  9. Hi Peter, is there any chance this Police officer could be the same guy thats in the Final of 'Britains Worst Driver ! ' which i think is due to be shown tues,Oct 21th on the TV.The said guy used to be a Police Officer and held a Helicopter Licence ! I can't believe it ! It makes me so angry to think that people like that are allowed to drive onthe roads at all, they should be locked away and i'm not joking. They are down to the final three drivers ( the three least improved out of original 10 i think)and one of them will be awarded a brand new Jaguar as a prize and set loose on our roads  I don't know if there is a thread aready about this program but has anyone else seen the show and do you think those drivers are for real! 10. How about Camo Toilet Paper for those Camping Carpers who find it exceptable to dump in the bushes and woods undercover of darkness and can't be bothered to dig a small hole and cover it over! When walking around some locations you can see dozens of clumps of white tissue paper littering the place, at least white paper tells you where not to tread ! [ 20. 11. I think the number of church goers is on the decline , at least in this country. Where as most NON church goers probably couldn't care less if there are Gay people involved in running churchs etc i believe it's the church 'Boss's' who are worrying that they will loss even more of the hardcore regulars if they let Gays get involved. = Less members in the church and Less in the collection plate etc. I have no problem with Gay people running anything and but I am concerned about the often hushed up "kiddy fiddlers" as 'Ferret 1959' calls them that hide behind the name of religion , we often read about in the Media, now that should be sorted and fast !
  12. Yes Memories I remember my mum giving the woman next door a spare ginger beer plant along with instructions but forgot to mention the corks only bit! Result, shards of glass embedded in inside of the sideboard wooden door Also i seem to remember it getting very alcoholic after a while Hic ! My mum also did a smashing Edler Flower drink , again becoming strong as it aged. Funny how i remember the alcholol bit ,lol.
  13. Peter, as said above ," you have seen it 'hands on' and i have only seen the photos" but the hinge unit on the new net looks much the same as on some other folding Pike nets , including 'Sharpe nets' and other makes = the spring loaded collar, except it looks like Harris's has a steel nut and bolt instead of Brass! As i said before ,i wouldn't of thought Chris and Sue Harris wouldn't of introduced this new net knowing it to be of poor quality . I guess the proof will be if this new net is still in their range in years to come. http://www.sharpes.net/sharpes/nets_accessories.html [ 29. June 2003, 08:26 PM: Message edited by: Richard Harvey ]
  14. Paul , Harris Angling would of refunded you if you had returned it ,it might of cost you a Fiver? in return postage but then at least you would only of wasted £5 rather than £50 for something your not happy with.I'm sure you could sell it on and get some of your money back.harrisangling.co.uk//about.htm?...71NA6NTR1J5ETF0
  15. Hello Peter, i have the QED Huntsman net ( with plastic spreader block ) and it's given almost 8 years of regular use and is holding up well. I will have to replace it sooner or later as one part or the other will give up at some time. Looking at the new style frame and hinge they appear to be metal / alloy with a nut and bolt through and i would of thought that stronger than the Plastic and roll pin block? harrisangling.co.uk/harr/produc...50&pf%5Fid=1212 I haven't seen the net apart from the photo on the link so i can't agree or disagree with your findings but i would of thought Sue and Chris Harris would of given some thought to the product before changing over styles. I think the Huntsman style of net is good for netting fish at bankside or boat side then either as you said unhooking inthe net or lifting the fish from the net, i wouldn't use it for lifting fish of more than a pound or so ( which would be hand landed most of the time anyway ) Harris also do 'Loki' nets which look a lot more robust but in the Pike sizes may not be so easy to rove around with .
  16. Elton, if your wobbling a deadbait then the bait will have your constant attention and you will be ready to strike the second the Pike hits the bait, as in Lure fishing. I only wobble deadbaits a few times each year and i tend to strike as if i'm lure fishing. I drop a few more fish than people who let the Pike take line with the wobbled deadbait but i'd rather lose a few than deep hook them. I think the concern of most people re this is that a lot of Pikers using Baits dead/live is that of poor bite detection plus lack of attention to Floats or freelined baits , even talking with mates in the next swim down etc. Summer Pike swallow baits down a lot lot faster than in colder winter months and this results in too many deep hooked Pike.
