  1. Don't post very often, and don't know how to PM you Elton, but as i said when the topic first appeared you can NEVER have too many centrepins! They all get used and i sit and spin them on the sofa. So i supose i have just talked myself into another, (didn't have to try too hard). Put me down for one please. Just don't tell the wife
  2. "will float when it falls off the rod" Now thats what i call a useful feature
  3. It's not using one that's the fetish,it's having 7 and still wanting another ! They ALL get used by the way! Bring it on.
  4. Missed the start of this subject but very interested in buying one. Can NEVER have too many centerpins, fish with em don't just look at em (Not sure the wife agrees though.)
  5. Hi run Wharncliffe Fly Fishery near Sheffield with a friend of mine when one day as i was about to leave i noticed a guy bent into something and thought his rod was behaving oddly. I stopped to see what it was, saw him reach forward with his landing net but couldn't make out what it was, but it wasn't a trout. I could se him "messing" about with something so walked along to get a better look, my fishery didn't want him messing my fish about. Anyhow turns out he had foul hooked a grass snake in the end of it's tail, and was scared of snakes! Un-hooked it for him and let it go none the worse for its encounter! How many catch and return snakes can there have been in England?
  6. Try one of these very cumfy very practical,JRC relaxa. The link will take you to it, i'm 6' 4" and find plenty good enough for long session and you can carry all you gear in it too! Bonus! http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/catalog/pro...roducts_id=2574 Regards
  7. Don't mind having to work for em just need a few clues where to start, as i say still waters not really my thing these days so a bit out of touch with whats what in that reguard. Last time i caught a big one was out of the third lake at Wentworth but that was 25years ago and went 3lb 2oz. Tried the canal here in Sheffield but nothing worth talking of. Even the long stick lads that match fish it with mini worms and smaller hooks, (pole merchants with blod worm and joker), have no reports of any accidentals during matches so i need to look else where. Thanks for the help
  8. Hi guys, anyone got any tips on where i might catch a decent sized perch in the Sheffield area during the close season? Years since i caught a big perch, not really fished for them though. Thought it was about time i put this right. Can't fish the flowing rivers which are my first love, and don't want to fish the puddles for "standard" carp so perch it is. No finer looking big fish by the way in my opinion, and i include in that a 14lb 14oz sea trout caught by my goodself from the South Tyne. So anyone able to give me any clues where to start the hunt. Many Thanks
