  1. It was never made, as the one on the show was a prototype avon-style rod, based on the Diaflash spinning rod that Shimano did have in production at the time of filming.
  2. Never many new ideas in fishing Budgie, but some good solutions there to problems that have been addressed thoughout this brilliant thread, namely line clips and windproof bobbins. I like to give guys like this my money, made in Britain and all that. I just wish we had more of this sort of thinking, which is what I was getting at really.
  3. I think Keith Fielding could answer, and indeed has, alot of questions that have been raised on this thread. His stuff is about the best there is in my opinion - http://www.defiantmps.com/index.htm - and especially his indicator systems - http://www.defiantmps.com/indicators.htm
  4. Roach or Perch - any time, any place, anywhere. Both stunning to look at, and can be fished for with a variety of methods, but both readily on my favourite method, the waggler.
  5. With the right line clip, I see know reason why you couldn't do it with the Solar Recoil. Unlike most zingers, it has a knurkled wheel that locks to ensure the cord isn't retracted. You could slacken it off slightly so it would recoil as sooon as it was touched; a line bite.
  6. What, like this? - http://www.solartackle.co.uk/indcustom/recoil01.html
  7. http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/Raven-C...pin-t80991.html This thread might help too.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Raven-Vectra-SST-2-C...%3A1%7C294%3A50 This guy might be able to help, as I have seen those pins on ebay from time to time.
  9. Yep, the Exage STC, or a Beastmaster STC. I have a few Exage travel rods and they all all fantastic.
  10. That's what's great about the maggot clips, they are so damned easy to use, alot easier than any other multiple maggot hookbait presentation. They aren't heavy either.
  11. And fantastic bits of kit they are too!
  12. "A great assist in the loading of Maggot Clips." They are to squeeze the maggot clips so that you can open or close them, and not for the maggots themselves.
  13. They obviously don't........ you're never out of the mags!
  14. I did too....................at the start. Same old same old!!!
  15. I've also noticed that there isn't a lot of advertisements in TCF either, something that most definitely cannot be said for IYCF. Coarse fishing is not carp fishing therefore I do not want a magazine dominated by them, nor the methods for which to fish for them. TCF seems to me to have the best mix. Coarse Angling Today is complete rubbish in my opinion, as is its sister publication, Pike & Predators. Their forum really says it all!! I do not like the way the articles (for the most part) are written, and they both have a very amateurish feel to them. It is a shame about P&P as I pike fish a lot, and there just doesn't seem to be a good magazine catering for predator fishing. CAT and P&P would be much better as one title in my opinion.
  16. Although the last couple of "New Look" magazines have been alright, it's definitely aimed at the commercial carper. Disappointing since Kev Green is the editor. I prefer "Coarse Fisherman", to which I subscribe, although I am seriously considering ditching it in favour of "Total Coarse Fishing", if anyone has any thoughts on that title?........................
  17. Look at either the Chub, or Fox range. Very comfortable and both excellent quality

  19. Like the sound of that, may have to try some soon.
  20. I thought that was what Airflo's Ridge Line was like?
  21. IQ is alright for certain rigs, have used it with success on the method feeder. Seaguar is awesome stuff, as is it's sister Riverge. Seaguar for high B/S, Riverge for lower. More problems come about as a result of the knot rather than the line. Saying that, I think Berkley Vanish is absolute s***e and should be banned, it is that bad! Snaps like cotton on anything than takes a half decent run.
  22. Those duolocks are alright, I used them before I changed to their power snaps. I changed because they were prone to opening during pike & saltwater fly-casting. They are also completely useless for heavy lure / jerkbait fishing. I've a friend with arthritis, and he uses the lead clips, and I've yet to see one of those fail, although I personally have reservations for heavy lure work. I will see how he goes with them though.
