Ive been fishing the trent for years catching chub to 5lb 10oz, brean to 6lb, barbel to 6lb and picke to 12lb 8oz but i have nether caught a carp on the river(ive had them to 19lb 12oz onn lakes which i caught of the top) so ive decided to have a dig 4 them this summer. i will b mainly targeting around gunthorpe but will try different parts any advice?

There are plenty of chub to be had n it not that bad to get there i go on my bike. I.ve lost some big fish but they jus break me as im jus fishin 4 lb sraight hope 2 go 4 them this sumer with steped up gear.One of the best methods ive used has been the large drennen cage feeder fished with jus sweetcorn in it nothing else went on first day of the season n had 10 chub in 3 hours biggest about 4 n half pounds. hope that helps a bit.
