  1. fraid not sdd, cant take any either as i am in afghan at the moment!!!
  2. i have for sale on ebay a heritage redfish. it is being sold for me by the family adventure store. it is a replacement yak sent to me because i damaged mine, i am selling the replacement and keeping the old one as the damage is minor. this was my first yak and i found it to be a good stable yak with plenty of room to fish from. the standard seat is very comfy and will not need replacing. a bargain at 400 quid http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Heritage-Redfish-Sit...1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. thanks for the reply, visit bristol alot so could do with a nearby mark, especially for the winter cod!!
  4. interesting report headshine, i have a few questions if u dont mind, i've recced the clevedon area for a launch but have been worried about the tide. how deep is the mark? how far offshore is it? were you down or uptiding? is wains hill east or west of the pier? good catch cheers mike
  5. does anyone fish in the hamstead ledge area? looks good on the chart, deep water close in to a ledge. i'll be trying the totland bay area for rays next spring.
  6. i asked bristol water about chew etc and was told a flat no!!!!
  7. drumgerry, only really fished it in the summer, u can see thetop of the rock under the surface and on its western edge there is a vertical drop. i caught the usual suspects ie coalfish pollack and mackeral, the dive site says there are cod and catfish there as well, cant remember whch dive site it was but there were a couple of other marks i got off there but never fished, there are some wrecks just off burghead of some valentine tanks. sandend was nice fishing flatties galore in the bay and again the usual suspects near the cliffs. nice launch here from the mini harbour, i fancied a turbot from here!, you should get to see the dolphins which is fantastic. mike,
  8. about 700m away from cullen harbour towards the point to the east is a mark called capel rock. i got the numbers off a moray dive site. its not far off shore and is a pinacle of rock coming up to a couple of metres under the surface, try there!! best wishes from a former moray kayak fisher!!!

    Which Yak?

i have a clio and get a 14ft yak on top, its travelled from southampton to north scotland a couple of times!!! so dont base ur yak choice on this factor. have you already got a roof rack? i found it a pain getting 1 for the 3 door, the family adventure store sorted me with 1 for around 60 quid
  10. i launched into a small creek near the sea scout hut on shore road, there is a layby there to park and then you only have to carry your kit about 4metres over the road, there is a tackle shop in hythe where you can get bait
  11. got mine from ebay, still waiting for it to be delivered but as i say did view one before and it looks the job. i went for the left handed model so i can cast single handed with my right arm.
  12. hi s2vto i've just splashed out on a daiwa cygnus to pair up with a new greys g 100 for a single handed lure outfit and light bottom/float fishing. viewed the reel in a shop, seems robust and is easy to operate with a single hand, the free spool is engaged by a bar behind the spool with the thumb. got 1 for 30 quid inc p&p. also viewed the shimano callisto and another shimano which i cant remember the name of. lovely reels but alot more expensive
  13. type of seabed too i guess, eg shingle/mud/sand
  14. i fish from a heritage marquesa/redfish, off the top of my head i think its 32 inches wide
  15. also just seen a 1.5kg danforth on ebay, might give it a go, i also have chain and as i say a 1.5 grapnal but this didnt hold whilst fishing off lepe at the first drop off on a smallish tide judging from other peoples responses i can only assume this is because of yak design/width
