  1. Hi .. The chub basically filled the landing net and we had trouble getting it into the weighing net. Fish of a lifetime!! .... We thought it was a barbel all the way in, just because it felt so heavy. The Chubs mouth opened just below the surface and we realised what it was ... our mouths then opened too !!!!. Rob has detailed the catch with photos in his blog on artful angler. Keep an eye in the angling times and anglers mail I also hope I can equal his Chub one day. My personal best is about 4lb - a tiddler in comparison.
  2. Elton.... Hows it going ? I hope you still have the caricature which Rob drew of you hanging above your PC I'll get him to have a look at these posts as I am sure he will be very interested...
  3. All the information about Robs catch is on his <a href=" http://www.artfulangler.co.uk/blog/robfish...;Blog</a>. I know he would love to hear your comments.
  4. Hello .. I was fishing with my cousin Rob Kavanagh (Artful Angler artist) On the River Wye at Symonds Yat last sunday and he absolutely smashed his Personal best Chub. A 7lb 2oz monster. Details of his catch can be seen on http://www.artfulangler.co.uk He would like your comments !!!! ... Matt
  5. Hi .. I was wondering how everyone has been getting on during this mild winter in terms of Carp catches .... (or other usual summer species for that matter)..... My local gravel pit water temperature still seems pretty high, and it has produced afew decent carp of late.... Any suggestions on good winter Carp baits ? .... matt http://www.artfulangler.co.uk

  9. Hello, Have been fishing my local canal afew times lately and keep seeing an enourmous chub cruising through my swim. It seems to be hanging around in the same place. I have tried various methods and baits to tempt this chub but still no joy. Need some advice on bait presentation ... baits to try and techniques for a very cautions chub.. matt - http://www.artfulangler.co.uk
  10. Hi I have fished the river Severn at Tewkesbury for years and catch plenty of small barbel and chub. My aim for this season is to catch a double figure Barbel. I mainly use cheese or Luncheon Meat which pick up plenty of fish but nothing of decent size. I know the bigger barbel are there...from what others have said. Any tips, bait ideas, advice or methods to try would be appreciated.... Matt - http://www.artfulangler.co.uk
