I have been offered a shimano curado 201 DHSV multiplier reel....might be better than my 5501c3, with which I have been happy enough. Is it a better reel for general lures, med jerks etc ? It seems in ex nick and he wants £70.....can't find much about it except that its discontinued or out of stock....Just checking for info before I drive out and see it....

BTW THere are NO Pike in the Lubniag try loch doine or loch voil both near to Lubniag And Loch Earn is under the Tay river protection scheme whereby you MUST have written permission to fish for ANY species. L.Earn is closed til March 15th and there are no coarse fish present really except eels and minnows. Lubnaig has perch but very few, if any, pike. Go to the rivers instead, plenty grayling in Earn, Tay, Forth etc.

it has 2 top 2 kits, one with a 4-6 elastic, the other with about a 10, hope that helps. Keith.

12.5 m, in ex cond , cost £900 new, an excellent pice of kit. Takes up to No 10 elastic I believe. Not gonna get used so away it goes, £115 posted or swap WHY? (gen coarse/ pike / carp /fly/ bivvy)

Plenty wild lochs to choose from, but you need a car for most of them, an they don'y have carp in them. If you want carp you'd really need to join the scottish carp group as they have safe waters to fish.

you can buy a greenheart rod for a few quid at most auctions. No one wants em....reels now thats a different kettle o' fish!

you need to get in contact with the scottish carp group, who have several waters. Google it and its easy to find.

What is the lightest recliner available? I sent an order to a big shop, carp specialists and said i wanted a light one. Oh yeah they say, the trakker terry hearn they recommend. Ok, Trakker, good name , so i go for it. Its a piece of crap! It weighs 12 and a half pounds! Surely the wee prologic recliner or the wychwood supalite are much lighter? This one is steel framed, not alu. I am sending it back. Which 1 should i request they send me? They don't ssem to have a clue!
