Bucklebury Ponds 1100 - 1415 Warm (20º+), overcast and quite breezy. 1 Carp; 3lb 11oz, 2 Skimmers. A dozen+ Roach & Perch (in roughly equal nos.) Short session to my nearest water. All fish on float fished maggot...
  2. Bucklebury Ponds 1130 - 1400 Overcast, breezy and drizzly - warm. 2 carp; 4lb 3oz, 3lb 6oz. 12 Roach, 4 Perch and a skimmer. Fishing time has been severely curtailed by athletics over the last 4 weekends - so just a quick session on my local pond float fishing maggot.
  3. Bucklebury Ponds 1500 - 1730 Bright, warm and sunny. A doz roach tp ¾lb. 5 Perch. 4 Skimmers. No fishing this weekend - upto Birmingham to watch the athletics - so a snatched couple of hours at my nearest venue to home - most of the roach were a 'nice' size.
  4. Bucklebury Ponds 0945 - 1215 Cool and overcast 1 Carp; 4lb 9oz. 5 Skimmers, 15 Roach & 5 Perch (all small). Short session before the latest band of rain swept through....Was hoping to snaffle a slightly bigger bream. Carp took an age to land on light tackle!
  5. Bucklebury Ponds 1000 -1400 Warm, overcast and muggy. 6 Bream to 1½lb. 1 Carp 2½lb. 5 roach, 5 perch. Another weekend dominated by athletics (up in Loughborough yesterday watching Sam), so another quick 'snatched session at my local. Bites not as prolific as last Sunday (when it wasn't as bright) but still enough to keep me amused for a few hours...
  6. Bucklebury Ponds 1030 - 1430 Overcast, muggy with light drizzle at times. 2 Tench; 2lb & 1lb 6oz, 8 Bream most ± 1lb. 1 Carp 2lb 13oz. 10 roach & 4 perch. Pleasant session watching my float dither, dip and disappear with satisfying regularity. Most fish on pellet apart from the tench which fell to maggot - had to switch to pellet when the perch moved in!
  7. Bucklebury Ponds 0630 - 0900 Clear skies, 16ºC -> 20ºC 3 Bream; 2 circa 1½lb and a tiddler, a doz+ perch. Bit of a half-hearted session as I wasn't expecting much action but after a hot, sticky and rather sleepless night it was lovely to be out in the cool(ish) morning air - a few fish were a bonus!

Bucklebury Ponds 1000 - 1300 Breezy, overcast with frequent light showers. 3 Carp; all between 3-4lb. 2 Bream; both circa 2lb. A dozen+ roach and perch - mainly perch plus a roach/bream hybred of around 1lb. Quick morning visit to my 'local'. Carp were actually a bit of a menace - took an age to land on light tackle and suspect they were bullying the target species (basically anything that wasn't a carp!) off the bait. Also got smashed a couple of times - only had 1½lb hook length.
  9. Bucklebury Ponds 0930 - 1230 Weather; 'Oribble, wet, windy and cold - this is meant to be JUNE. So far this month we've had nearly SIX inches of rain - 3 times the average for June and there's still over a week to go... 4 Bream all circa 2lb+, 1 Tench 1lb 15oz, 1 Carp 4lb 4oz, 1 roach and 7 perch. For a venue that is the nearest to my house (even nearer than the Kennet), I really don't visit here that often. When I do its usually to try and catch a crucian, any crucian - as nothing grows that big in these 2 wooded ponds. Still the fishing is undemanding - and sat under my brolly out of the wind - my quill float, fished under my rod tip indicated bites with gratifying regularity - still not caught a crucian but hey its still only June! (Even if it feels like October!)
  10. Bucklebury Ponds 1000 - 1200 Overcast - becoming sunny. 8 Perch - all small save one which weighed 1¼lb (!!!) 1 roach. Short trip to use up some maggot. Surprisingly large perch for this place (Maybe they DO go bigger - Rusty!! )
  11. Bucklebury Ponds 0930 - 1300 Overcast and breezey, 17-21ºC. 1 Crucian, 1lb, 1 Bream 2¼lb, 1 Goldfish (!) 1lb 14oz. 4 roach, 1doz perch. Pleasant morning float fishing the margins with maggot.
  12. Bucklebury Ponds 1030 - 1330 Warm, overcast and breezey. Max 21ºC 1 Carp; 2¾lb, 2 Crucians;1lb 5oz, 1lb 1oz, 2 Roach 1lb 2oz (!!) and a tiddler, 1doz perch. Short session with the sole aim (thankfully achieved!) of getting a crucian. Roach was a bit of a bonus! All fish on float fished maggot.
