sound driver

i too have lost all sound on my pc,a few weeks ago i had to reinstall or re formatt,since then there is silence from my pc,i have search and it just says no audio device found.. i too have realtek speakers ,i think they are as there is no name on them.if i re install again should that solve the problem.

its probably built in sound so reinstalling the realtech drivers off your driver disk will bring sound to your ears again

there is no disc for the speakers and windows was preinstalled ..hey ho off to reinstall ...

just re installed using the 3 system recovery discs i bought

 

it says no audio device found,just contemplating ringing pw world help line as really fed up now,i had the chance for a laptop for xmas and said no!!!!!!!!!

Does the sound system show up when you go to control panel and sound?

no,and when i try windows media it just says there is no sound device installed.

I am resigned to being deaf as far as the pc is concerned until step son visits over xmas i think....trouble is i bet its something very stupid i have done

Are there any items in that list that have a yellow exclamation mark next to them?

 

If the answer is yes, is your PC a shop bought model, and if so which model?
