Dear Lee

Don't bother with the waddling twaddle you will post here.....My post wasn't about what you said being correct but more so that others, who have no knowledge of the stretch or situation, being mis-informed too much.

Perhaps you should state on here what you know about the stretch being.....quote "One previously open to all venue has been greedily gobbled up by a few anglers that previously had unrestricted access to the venue anyway!!"

Concentration being put into the area of 'Greedily gobbled up'.....facts would be nice.

You might think that you have me into a situation where I will indulge your desire for a lengthy debate on this issue which, at one time, you had no worries with.....but you are wrong.

You post away to your hearts content....no more needs to be said by myself on the matter......I have stated what I know to be the facts involved in the whole scenario.....I know it to be the truth of what I know.

If you knew the area and people as well as you say, then you will know all about the local minority division that would like to see anglers off the water all together.......fish there a bit and you will speak with them face to face....they think the riverbank is there for them to exercise their dogs and use it as a natural toilet for their beasts.....however, not all dog owners are like this and many carry poo-bags even though they are 'out in the country'....this consideration being much appreciated by the many walkers who enjoy the stroll along the rivers course and the anglers who fish there. Mind you....this division is like many other minority fractions, hot air and self strutting. The population as a whole welcome the anglers but prefer the banks to be a shade more tidier.

Regards the wording 'same old gang'.....re-read this as 'angling friends'......regards the wording 'I'll stand on my own two feet ta very much'.....re-read this as 'not bloody suprising is it with your past record'.

I have said my piece......do as you wish and the other readers can decide whats right whichever way they feel inclined.

Myself.....I shall be reading and no more....I have seen from others who have decided to debate with you that the get out clause towards the end of the debate from yourself will be the threat of lawyers being bandied about.....debate with you isn't possible due to you thinking you hold all the facts and truths behind all things Trent based.

The example is in your opening line to Cahal Daly.....where you read his post and then say.....quote" Interesting post. Although I don’t agree with one single word of it.

Firstly Cahal, I've actually never heard of you as being a Trent man. Perhaps you fish way up river?"

The arrogance is shameful.....first you say you do not agree with a single word of Cahals post and secondly you use the definition that because you have never heard of him as being a Trent man you imply by your wording that he isn't one.

Correct me if I am wrong here but doesn't a river have a source and a finishing point.....this is known as the river course......if one fishes anywhere on that river then surely they can be classed as a Trentman, Derwentman, Doveman, Thamesman, etc, etc..............!!!!

Happy Easter Lee. Eat another easter egg......chocolate is suposed to make one feel happy.

Yours With Respect.....

Steve.

Trentbarbeler,

You try to stand on your own two feet all over the Web, problem is you keep falling over. Retreat, people are fed up reading your pointed posts penned to satisfy your own misplaced ego. One can only bend the truth so many times before getting found out and I, and many others I speak to, saw through you ages ago. Your words have no place here save to disgrace yourself and anoy others.

Sounds as if the Hazelford crew are doing a good job. Oh by the way I dont know any of them, I do however love the Trent and see its abuse all to often these days.

God.

Dear Steve,

You are'nt half getting long winded yourself my friend.

I think that you said it all in just this one little piece that I now quote:

"My thoughts are this, past friend......go fishing and try and enjoy your time on the bank......your credence on 'open to all' fishing went out the window when you cut and run from the organisation you said would be the saviour to all 'open to all' river fishing.....the RSSG. (Never spoken of nowadays but four letters that should be highlighted and hauled up from the ashes once in a while to show just how quickly direction can be changed by drum beaters.)"

Not too much need for more than that, I think!.

It is exactly what I would have wanted to say.

Succinct, to the point and untwistable.

When you throw in the towel you have lost, no good trying to win the fight after that.

With the greatest respect, Liam.

I'm a bit unsure about the morality of river syndicates. What I have discovered though, is that there are "anglers" fishing the Trent who should be forced to live in a squalid hole with all the filth and crap that they habitually throw down every time they go out. Mr Trebus had nothing on these festering filth-mongers. If there are horses or cattle grazing the banks it only seems to encourage them more. If syndicating stretches of river is the only way of policing these retards then so be it.

The first time I stumbled upon the river at East Bridgeford, I found myself literally walking on a bank made of rusting sweetcorn and luncheon meat tins, beercans, groundbait and caster bags, empty fag packets and ancient, half empty pop bottles. After crunching my way about a third of a mile upstream, I came to a wierpool, just in time to see a young lad dropping a decent sized barbel off a vertical wall, about ten feet above the river! If you want to see a sight to make your lower jaw disclocate and drop to the floor, take a look (as brief as possible) at Bob's Island in Newark. You really need a tetanus injection before daring to get out of your car at that place.

Perhaps that should be the only place open to anyone caught littering the banks. It would probably be a home from home to them.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Dear Peter

Whilst ever this man continues to refer to 'open to all fishing' he can expect to receive reminders of the past sad affairs of the RSSG. Becoming personal, tough I say, if you 'can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen' or better still don't put the oven on in the first place. I for one am now sick and tired of going on websites where aggressive and argumentitive posts are continually made. Anglers Net does not deserve to be the platform from which individuals are attacked for statements made on other sites.

Best Regards

Dave
